Hi Yuki, if it says “N/A” then it means that Technorati doesn’t know about the blog. The blog owner should go and register with Technorati.

Hi Yuki, sorry yes, your blog is not showing its Tech rank, but it seems to be only yours that has the problem. Weird. Check again in the morning after the rankings are updated and it should be right.

    and the mybloglog tagging means”¦.

It’s just a stats script, it tells me, and you, which are the most popular outgoing links. Nothing sinister in it, are you worried search engines can’t follow the links, or what?

How are the 6 factors weighted against each other? Are all factors weighted equal? It somehow feels that the weight is not balanced.

There seems to be too much weight for PageRank (which is a bit odd, especially after the latest PR disaster of Google - it’s actually just a number) and too much for Delicious (who still uses this?) and Bloglines (which has actually little relevance, as only a few people subscribe RSS via it - Feedburner subscriptions would be more important, as they incorporate the Google numbers as well).

Then there doesnt’t seem to be enough weight on Alexa, which is becoming one of the most important measures for bloggers these days. And how about other measures like Stumbleupon, Digg, Reddit or Propeller?

It would be nice to know a bit more about the algorithm behind the rankings.

    Thanks,
    Zahara

Zahara, no they’re not equally weighted, I sometimes change the weightings to get what I think are the fairest results, I’m not giving you the exact figures, but currently Page Rank actually has the lowest weighting, as I agree it’s not too useful. I disagree with you on Delicious, and I can’t use Feedburner stats because not all the blogs use that service, perhaps most don’t. And anyway Feedburner users have to allow polling of their numbers, they have to opt in to this. Without Google numbers being available Bloglines is the next best thing, it has second biggest market share (so not “few” readers.)

It’s not too difficult to spam Alexa rankings at the mid to low end of things.

Stumbleupon, Digg, Reddit or Propeller, yes it might be possible to use them but, gee, there’s only so much I can fit on a page, and it’s easier for webmasters to spam the numbers for them than it is for the current factors.
