During a speech given to a large crowd protesting against the upcoming visit by George Bush to Indonesia Habib Rizieq said at Jakarta on Sunday 19th November:
Bush can be killed by anyone who has the chance to kill him. It’s not just that it is permissible to kill him, he must be killed. I am prepared to be responsible for [saying] this in the hereafter.
(Bush halal dibunuh bagi siapa saja yang punya kesempatan untuk membunuhnya. Bush bukan saja boleh dibunuh tapi wajib dibunuh. Saya bertanggung jawab dunia akhirat.)
Upon saying these words Habib, who is the leader of the Front Pembela Islam (FPI), a radical Islamic group, was greeted with cries of “Allahu Akbar” (God is great) from the tens of thousands of people present at the demonstration outside the Istana Merdeka palace.

Habib said that Bush could legitimately be murdered because he has committed crimes against humanity, not because he is of a different religion and race. More blood-curdling cries of “Allahu Akbar” ensued. detik

This is an openly subornation/invitation to do a criminal act (never mind who becomes the target) and this shouldn’t be tolerated by a democratic judificial government, but I become more and more pessimistic.
It is more and more difficult for me as a neutral person to find more arguments pro Islam, except saying: this is not Islam, these are just the words of an obsessed, clouded soul.

maybe there is no more place in his skull for such negligibility. I think his head is already full of hate and foolishness, which are (as I know) dominant and virulent garbages and have the nature to squeeze out the “weak making” attributes like understanding, tolerance and intelligence. -

As a moeslem, I fully disagree with the statement of the Habib. Also, it must not justify that the majority of Indonesian moeslem have the same opinions to him. In my opinion, this guy has not deep understanding about how the Islam face the pluralitiy and diversity. He just take the moment to publish and popularize his organization, FPI, in order to be exist. Only a stupid moeslem follow his arguments and so it is just sensation based on the Islamic lable.
I suggest to Habib voluntary move out from my beloved homeland Indonesia into Afghanistan, Irak, or Pakistan so that you can examine your belief. -

I have nothing against anyone, but i speak the truth in love, I was a Muslim and I have taken time to read the text (al-Quran and sahih hadith bukhari and Muslimi and others..) for myself, the question really is have you. in Christianity we are encouraged to read the bible not to memorize it, like i did in Islam, but after i saw lots of Christians killed by Muslims while shouting ‘Allahu akbar’ I had to find out for myself if this is indeed Islam or they are just plain wicked.

please read the preceding and proceding verses so as not to be acused of cherry-picking.
please tell me what you understand by it, because Muslims have quoted it as a justification for this despicable acts, but if you have another interpretation, i will be glad to consider it.
I believe that if when don’t explore the truth, I am not sure we will make much difference, something is motivating jihadist and blowing up people and beheading,is not by people who are not convinced and sincere about there belief and i see all there ideology in the Islamic text.

What about the many Moslems and Muslimahs which are against these zealotism and hate yells? They understand the teaching of Islam surely different than such brainless people like Habib.
What about the Jews which are agains the aggressive inhuman politics of Israel?
What about the westerners who are trying to understand the east and the Islam without prejudice?
I know, they (me including) don’t count, they are just disturbing factors in the hatred generalising community. So it is easier to argue with generalising and hate.
The “truth” is that what we believe, isn’t it? Islam is not only Sura 9:29. -
Hi Ismail, I just learned something yesterday, and maybe – just maybe, it will answer a lot of questions. There is this thing called progressive revelation in Koran, which means that whatever is said or written in one part, may be overridden by subsequent verses that chronologically came after that. Sort of amendments.
The problem is, it’s not that easy to tell which came later, because the Koran isn’t written in chronological order (or so the source said).
So if our Muslim brothers got confused and do funny things, I can now start to understand it – but it still doesn’t justify all the lost lives – including the Muslims’.

In “science”, the principle is that truth evoluates : the disciple may find new things. If religion does not help & inspire LOVE, patience, etc., just forget it ! -
