MMI Policeman Discharged

Oct 3rd, 2006, in News, by

A policeman connected to the Mujahidin Council was dishonourably discharged.

Brigadier Suprianto, who lives in Sawit, Boyolali, was fired from the Surakarta (Solo) police force on 29th September after it was found that he was acting as a military instructor for the Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI). He had been arrested on the 4th of September 2006.

However Central Java police chief Dody Sumantyawan said that the main reason Suprianto was dismissed was because he often did not fulfil his duties, preferring instead to do private security work, as well as training for the Mujahidin Council. He said:

But we will keep watching the activities of the MMI.
(Tapi kami terus mengawasi aktivitasnya di MMI.)

One Question: Why would the “peaceful” MMI need a military instructor?? Am I missing something here?

  2. Marsel says:

Answer: Because they need it to keep the “peace”
Of course, they have their own definition of the term “peace” according to their belief.
