Yudhoyono For Nobel Peace Prize
Sep 12th, 2006, in News, by PatungIndonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is favourite to win this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, according to Australian bookmakers.
For his perceived role in creating peace in Aceh Yudhoyono has been posted a 3-1 favourite by Australian gambling firm Centrebet, according to Reuters.
The second favourite is Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari and his Crisis Management Initiative at 4-1. Ahtisaari brokered an August 2005 truce in Helsinki between the separatist Free Aceh Movement (GAM) and the Indoneisian government, aimed at ending a war in which about 15,000 people have died.
Trailing in the betting for the prize are Rebiya Kadeer, a Muslim defender of the rights of China’s Uighur minority, in third at 10-1. Lida Yusupova, a Chechen rights lawyer, is in fourth place with 12-1 odds, Belarussian rights activist Ales Bialatski is fifth at 14-1 and former Czech president Vaclav Havel is sixth at 16-1. At longer odds are Bono from U2 dan Bob Geldof, 20-1, the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, at 100-1, and Oprah Winfrey at 200-1. President George Bush, Tony Blair, and John Howard are all unloved at 500-1.
The winner of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize is to be announced by the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo on October 13th. The secretive Norwegian Nobel Committee, which selects the winner of the peace prize established by Swedish philanthropist Alfred Nobel, does not publish nominees’ names and this year there has been little media speculation about the likely winner.

when I was a little bit younger i remember watch an alien movie, it says like this “we come with peace” all the sudden, they shoot lazer beam and knock your head off.
I think they deserve that nobel prize even more than anybody else here…. hahahaha…..

Watta Nobel Peace Prize of not promising Indonesia to tackle corruption. SBY already have Nobel Peace Prize, right, all of you? Then why Indonesia still one of the most corrupt country in the world? tsk… tsk…. tskk…I f I live in Indonesia, I will make an iffigy(puppet) of SBY’s head and his body is a pig roasted and the fire represents hell.
