Tsunami Caused by Sin

Dec 22nd, 2005, in News, by

Women may have been the cause of the Asian tsunami.

According to one Sharia judge in the Indonesian province of Aceh, where Islamic law has recently been instituted, women may have been the cause of the Asian tsunami that so devastated the province, as relates The Times.

The Holy Koran says that if women are good, then a country is good.

and

The tsunami was because of the sins of the people of Aceh.

So said the judge while speaking at a gathering of women. It appears the religious police of Aceh have been singling out women for especial notice of late and have been using widespread fear of another tsunami as justification for their persecution of women.

Another tsunami is possible. The Holy Koran says that if humans don’t listen to Allah they will be punished.

There are two ways of looking at this, one from the perspective that Islam has a marked deleterious effect on the mind of the believer, it makes him, well, stupid. Second, and perhaps more persuasive, is the way in which religion generally is used as a vehicle to gain power over others, and to gain rewards in this world.

In the case of Islam, for men generally, there is the power gained over women, the ability to enjoy more than one woman sexually in a socially legitimised way.

But for those in positions of authority Islam is indeed a marvellous gift, it enables them to gain an almost unassailable power over those viewed as sinful, Allah disapproves of this or that, whatever the enforcer of God’s will does can not be wrong.

TsunamI was not cause by women in aceh at all. The only cause is the people supporting Sharia law in Aceh only. Sharia law is done by devil only, so what happen, God punish the devils as punish the Shraia region of Indonesia, Aceh. Tsunami is punishment for the people oin Aceh practice cruel law, the Sharia law. Supporting Sharia law is to worshipping iblis. Most punish by tsunami are cruel Acehnese people only and most calamities happen Indonesia are only Muslim-dominated regions in Indonesia, thats the Muslim Indonesians’ lesson.

  2. PerempuanRantau says:

If this is really happen then there should be more Independent Organisation in Aceh for woman.
What a bullcrap!!! Taking religion like this meanwhile I believe those words from Quran doesn’t mean like that. Some people in Indonesia, I should admit, always able to play with Quran words in order to get what they want. Making Islam looks bad. Gosh!!! Want to kick those people’s head!

  3. Tomaculum says:

What about to stand up and to take over the lordship, women in Indonesia? Maybe there will be finally more peace and understanding in this land?
Go, and I will support you!

  4. PerempuanRantau says:

    Hemmm would love too 🙂
I think there should be more woman in politics like Dewi Fortuna, Marissa Haque or Khofifah Indra Parawansa (hope spell her name right). These women definitely have brain. Hemmm…too bad I’m so far from home now…

  5. Tomaculum says:

Once more: I would support you, because I honestly am fed up with those intolerant, self-important, self-righteous and cackhanden male potentates (governmentaly and religious) which just regurgitate nonsence.
But there are more competent women than those you named.
    Good speed!

  6. PerempuanRantau says:

    Hi Toma,

You can be right that there are more smarter and braver women out there 🙂
However these are that so far able to make it through to the mass media and so far stand for what they believe and dare to use what they have to make a better Indonesia.

who’s not tired with hypocrite ruler or minister or those of religious leaders. But to take Indonesia to higher level need commitment and in the same time knowledge.

  7. Dewi says:

It almost 2 years past since Tusnami happned. I’ve no idea about it, but I just know one thing, Tsunami almost take everything from me. Not only lost property in my home town Aceh, but It also take my future. I have to stop my study in Bangkok because my parent can’t support me financially…

Hope it will not happend to the other place..

  8. Jimmy Asmara says:

The rule of Islam is the weakness of the government itself. By allowing religious integration among their citizens is a deadly sin by itself. There is no proper halal and haram lines of respect and jurisdiction . There is too much corruption, ursurping of orphans funds, killings among each other and the spread of blasphemous teachings. Even as the largest Muslim country in the world , the Indonesian are always proud to claim, the proper Islamisation of the whole social and economic system are so dubious and a great mockery. Indonesians deserve what they did to themselves whether Muslims or Christians. After all, many families live under one roof ! ,which is simply unacceptable.

  9. IndoGood says:

REALLY? It’s very nice to be women under islam ha!
Muslim man always put his own guilty to other, in this case women, very easily.

Muslim man wants to have other wife, it is the wife guilty,
Wife was wounded by her husband, it is her own guilty,
Wife could not give son, that is the woman fault,
children are ‘evil’ this is wife fault.
Tsunami struck Serambi Aceh it was women fault.

Before Tsunami came, Aceh was controlled by Muslim MEN. Not under women!
Hello Muslim men be MEN, be GENTLEMAN, please!

  10. Yunir says:

I am really dissapointed ath the ignorance of these people.
Please, Tsunami wasn’t exclusive to Aceh.

The tsunami isn’t a punishment for the sins of people.

The real punishment is the declining morals of people.

  11. Tomaculum says:

    Indo Good,
Women may have been the cause of the Asian tsunami that so devastated the province.
This statement doesn’t astonish me, because I think such way of thinking is predestinated by education and “believe”.
I am but more horrified about:
    1. the reaction of the women up there: even barely.
    2. the inconsequence of the clerics: if they believe, that women caused the tsunami and other problems, then why they don’t throw all women out of the country and send them away (maybe to the lands of the infidels, so that the tsunami will hit those countries the next times)??
But, ooops, if there were no more women, then how will they live their sexuality? With another? Hmmm, isn’t it a sin too? 🙂

    Yunir,
think about it carefully. Off course the tsunami hit also Thailand etc. There live women too (and worst: infidels!), don’t they?
So the statement is “correct”, isn’t it???
    🙂

And the moral of the story?
The big tsunami will hit us all, because we are all sinner, women and men (especially men).

  12. Dragonwall says:

I saw a publication in Chinese in Los Angeles that publish certain cloud formation that looks like the word ‘Allah’ or meaning that the tsunamis were caused by the Muslim God.

I also suppose that means that their god is punishing their people who created sins, like khalwat, sex in toilet, sex in the forest, sex on the beach and sex with those after their husband had gone to work kind of stuffs.

I recently read of news report of 8.5 but nothing damaging was done. It is a sign to tell them that by implementing the Sharia Law and those agreeing to that will be taught a lesson. (Just my guess)

Women may have been the cause of the Asian tsunami that so devastated the province

I suppose it must have been those women that embraces Islam. Does anyone know how many Chinese are there in Aceh because they were born and bred there and no where to go!

Does anyone knows how many of them were persecuted furing the G30S PKI and that they are still at Komplek Metal? And the government had done nothing to help those.

How many political elites have passed through and no one ever brought up the subject regarding their condition?

I suppose the ‘Sharia Judge’ also includes his wife, daughters, sisters and mother right! If not who is he referring to/

  13. Abu Sulaiman says:

Why must we only assume that Allah intends to punish Indonesia with a Tsunami. It could be that Allah loves the people of Indonesia and he wishes to test them and purify them. Allah only tests the ones he loves.

It was stated that Firawn (Tyrant of Egypt) never even experienced so much as a headache. However look at the real punishment that was given to to him at his end, in this life and the next.

Why do you think that USA and UK or Australia have been allowed to operate in such an oppressive fashion without any major reprisal. They have been given all of their rewards in this life so that they have no portion in the here after.

  14. Achmad Sudarsono says:

    Abu Sulaiman,

My friend, but what about the Good Muslims in Australia ? What about the Good Muslims in the U.S., those that have formed the Nation of Islam ?

And what about the rich Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia and Brunei ? Have they also been given their riches now so they don’t get them in the hereafter ?

Also, seeing as it’s not the end of days yet, we don’t really know what happened to Firawn, right ?

Also, I think the earthquakes in Indonesia might have more to do with this country sitting atop two crashing continental tectonic plates.

Friend, I think, perhaps it is time for you to take your head out of your (Arabian) perfumed ass and start using some of the logic those good Arab philosophers helped to develop 800 years ago.

Your stupid arguments are a sad tribute to the accomplishments of Islamic civilization.

It’s enough to make a man change his name to Fachmy.

    Achmad.

    Response to RADEN

    Asalaamu Alaikum,

    Name vs. Kunya (Nick Name)

First I’d like to thank you for responding to me without insulting me as did my brother.
To address your question, Yes I am an American born Muslim. Abu Sulaiman is not my birth name nor is it my chosen name. I rarely have met anyone (Muslim or Non Muslim) that used their real name in a chat or blog forum. Abu Sulaiman is my Kunya.(Nickname). I chose it because My first born son’s name is Sulaiman. Since I am his Abu that would make me Abu Sulaiman.

I don’t like to reveal my full birth name to people that I have not met. I have no control over my birth name since it was chosen by my father (Who is also an American Muslim) Although I wont reveal my full name to give you an idea of the true diversity of my fullname I will give you a hint.
My first name is named after an Italian renaissance artist, my middle name after a prophet mentioned in Quran and my last name (like Denzel) is also after an American president)

    Are actors real heroes?

I do consider Denzel Washington to be a successful actor but I am not an actor and I don’t model my life after Denzel or any other actor. Actors have a profession in which they imitate the lives of real people. Most of the time the people who they imitate are the real heroes.

    My real birth name

Back to the name issue, I have never changed my name. My remains the same name that my father gave me. Besides it is the case with African Americans that their surnames are not ithe original names of their family members but the names of their slavemasters. This is why many members of the Nation of Islam would reject their surnames and replace it with the letter “X”. “X” is an algebraic term that represents “the unknown.” Since they lost all ties with the African Soil they came from they would use “X” until they researched the geneological history of their family.

    Honor through Muslim Identity

Denzel Washington once acted in a movie that portrayed the life of the most influential man in American History. The birth name of this man was Malcolm Little. Even though Little was his birth name no one knows him today as “Little” but we do know Malcolm X. Malcolm X changed his name once more after performing Hajj to Al Hajji Malik Al Shabazz. Shabazz was supposed to be the name of his tribe. Even though Malcolm X only possessed the name Malik for a very short time before his assassination, as we speak, Malik still remains the most popular name amongst African American Males.

Similarly who has ever heard of Cassius Clay? This was the birth name of a very famous African American boxer and civil rights activist. Can you tell me who he is? That’s right Muhammad Ali. Everyone in the world knows Muhammad Ali but know one knows Cassius Clay. The name is respected by everyone, Muslim or non Muslim, White Americans and African Americans, boxing fans or non boxing fans. Muhammad Ali is more famous than the actor (Will Smith) who portrayed him, just as Al Hajji Malik Al Shabazz (Malcolm X) is more famous than the actor (Denzel Washington) who portrayed him.

Al Hajj Malik Al Shabazz, after becoming Muslim never even acknowledged his birth name “Little” and he would not respond to it nor alow reporters or speakers to be address him by it. he would say “Thats not my name but thats the slave masters name”, reminding his audience that he is.

Similarly Muhammad Ali never allowed himself to be addressed by his birth name after accepting Islam. He used to say “Clay means dirt.” In a very famous heavyweight fight
Floyd Patterson would constantly address him as Clay until they got into the ring and Ali
beat him sensless. All of the referees and fight correspondants noted that Ali could knock out his opponent at any moment yet Ali chose to punish him. It was recorded that Ali would yell “Whats my name?” before every punch he would land on the opponents face.

Muhammad Ali and Hajj Malik Shabazz are the REAL famous American heroes. They are so admired that famous American actors like (Denzel Washington and Will Smith) are honored to try to portray their roles on the screen. Ali and Al Hajj Malik Al Shabazz both chose to be proud of their identities as Muslims. Before becoming Muslims they were very much your average Joe. However Allah chose to honor them with Islam had they tried to seek honor any other way Allah would return them to a state of humiliation”¦and then their lives would really suck.

Interesting… but why you don’t mention Mike Tyson?

Firstly lets analyze the career of Mike Tyson so that the readers can decide for themselves whether or not he has met the moral and professional standards of his predecessors.

    Short Bio of Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson had a rough childhood, and was involved in street gangs. He would mug women on the street and get into fights. A boxing trainer named Cus D’Amato noticed his fighting abilities and decided to train and raise him . In 1986 Mike Tyson became the youngest heavyweight ever. By defeating Trevor Berbick. Cus died shortly their after and Mikes Career reached a short lived peak followed by a long decline.

Mike Tyson reached the height of his career in 1987 after defeating James Smith and Tony Tucker. In 1990 he lost the heavyweight title to Buster Douglas. After a series of personal problems he attempted suicide by crashing his car into a tree. In 1992 he was convicted on sexual assault and served time in prison. In prison he joined the “nation of Islam” then he was released. In 1997 he was banned from boxing for biting of the ear of Evander Holyfield, an opponent that most boxing fans knew he could not defeat. In 1999 he was arrested again for assault. He then returned to the ring and was knocked out in round four by Danny Williams. In 2005 Tyson announced that he would quit boxing after being knocked out by Kevin Mcbride.

    Where is Mike Tyson now?

In 2006 he was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and cocaine. In September 2007 he plead guilty to the charges.

What does Mike Say About himself?
Mike Tyson has stated in many interviews that Muhammad Ali is the greatest boxer of all times, and is his personal hero. Does Tyson measure up to his role model? Let me respond by using Tyson’s own words that he stated during a 2004 interview.

“I think I’m useless to society, I don’t think I am worthy of the people who come out to see me but they do.”

    -Tyson 2004

  22. Abu Sulaiman says:

For the benefit of the readers I would like to clarify the position of the Nation of Islam amongst Muslims in America.

    Islam in America
Islam is not new to America. Evidence exists of a Muslim Presence that predates Christopher Columbus over 700 years. However Islam didn’t establish it self in America until the transatlantic slave trade.
Most of the slaves brought to America were from West Africa. By this time the majority of West Africa was Muslim. American historians have suggested that at least forty percent of the Slaves brought to the Americas were practicing Muslims. The majority of the insurrections and slave rebellions were headed by Muslim slaves. This is why Islam was greatly suppressed amongst slaves in the Americas. Christianity was introduced early on to the slaves, and some accepted at face value to avoid persecution but they secretly practiced Islam. As the generations passed and families were separated by the slave trade, little of the religion remained in the offspring of the enslaved. This is why some African Americans who claim to be Christian, would take on Islamic practices without even knowing the origins of the practice. Some African American Christians still refuse to eat pork; other groups have women who insist on covering their hair before going to church. Other groups like the “Shout Baptists” of the Caribbean are known to engage in a ritual that includes performing seven circuits around their church in a clockwise manner.
When these groups are asked about the non-Christian origins of these practices they will commonly respond that this is what they learned from their forefathers.
This identity was most common in the southeastern regions of the United States. With migration patterns they would also make there way up north. Leaders such as Noble Drew Ali would re-emerge several times in America, creating religious organizations such as the Moorish Science Temple. Other personalities such as Fard Muhammad would reawake this strange merger of Christianity and Islam among African Americans.

The Truth About the Nation of Islam

Although it carries the name Islam, the Nation of Islam (NOI) is a heterodox sect.
NOI was founded by in 1934 by a man named Elijah Poole. Poole was born in 1897 in Sandersville, George. Elijah Muhammad followed the teachings of a man named Fard Muhammad. Elijah believed, just as his followers believed that Fard Muhammad was Allah in the flesh.

Farad Muhammad supposedly taught Elijah Muhammad and Elijah Muhammad spread Fard’s teachings. He created schools and took his children out of Public School and was arrested for it. In order to silence him the US government used a tactic that was commonly used against African American males, they drafted him into the armed forces. In 1942 Elijah was again rearrested for refusing to serve in the Armed Forces.

In prison he found new recruiting grounds for his organization which he would call, “the Nation of Islam.” It would be in prison that a young ex, criminal named Malcolm Little, would embrace Elijah’s teachings.

Elijah Muhammad would instruct his followers to read the bible. Elijah also published a book for his followers to read that had his teachings. Many followers owned copies of the Quran but they were instructed not to read it, but to read Elijah’s teachings.

    Early Followers of Elijah

Followers followed Elijah’s every command and displayed blind obedience to Elijah.
Al Hajj Malik al Shabazz even stated in his biography “I (once) believed in Elijah Muhammad more than he believed in himself”
Elijah Muhammad had many sons. His seventh son (Wallace Muhammad) was chosen by Elijah to take over leadership of the organization. Since the age of 13 Wallace read the Quran. From this age Wallace would argue with his father about the teachings in which his father was spreading. In 1958 at the age of 25 Wallace was appointed as minister in Philadelphia temple #11. Wallace began to teach his followers the Quran, and the basics of prayer in Islam, which was something that was never done in Elijah’s temples.

In 1960 Wallace was jailed for refusing military service. In prison he dedicated his time to studying the Quran. After emerging he would call on other ministers to stop referring to his father as “the messenger of Allah.” For this and other actions such as exposing the illegitimacy of his father’s extramarital affairs, he was excommunicated from the Nation of Islam more than five times. Wallace and his family would receive death threats and attempts on there life for questioning the divinity and prophet hood of his father.

    Awakenings

Malcolm X, Wallace’s close friend, was another minister that was also excommunicated from the NOI. Malcolm X would later leave the NOI, perform Hajj, change his name to Al Hajji Malik Al Shabazz, and errantly cut ties with the organization. Al Hajji Malik Al Shabazz was assassinated shortly thereafter. In 1974 Elijah Muhammad became increasingly ill and he reinstated his son Wallace into the nation so that his son may take over leadership. In 1975 after the death of Elijah Muhammad. Wallace took over leadership of the NOI. Wallace Muhammad changed his name to Warinth Deen Muhammad and he disbanded the FOI (Fruit of Islam Paramilitary wing of the NOI) He changed the name of the NOI several times until they settled on the Muslim American Society, or MAS all ministers were named Imams and temples were named Mosques.
He denounced the core teachings of the NOI and taught that Muhammad ibn Abdullah of Mecca (c. 571) was the last and final messenger of Allah.
All of the members would take Shahada and become orthodox Muslims.
Followers were taught to pray as orthodox Muslims, to study the Qu’ran, and follow the five pillars of Islam.

    Dissent

It was in 1975 that many people, my father amongst them, accepted Islam and left the nation. However a small number of Elijah followers still exist. An NOI minister originally named Louis Eugene Walcott broke away from the World Community of Islam in the West and reinstituted Elijah Muhammad’s original teachings. Louis X later became Louis Farrakhan. Louis Farrakhan today is the leader of the old NOI.

Today the NOI is not nearly as active and powerful as it was during the time of Malcolm X. The Muslim American Society is now the single largest and most influential Muslim Organization in America.

    Full Circle
This short history is proof to the fact that Allah can use whoever he wants to promote his deen. Even though they started out as an obscure sect that was based upon un-Islamic teachings, they later became Muslim in one generation’s time.
Their offspring, like myself, are second and third generation Muslim Americans

“Everybody knows the Tsunami was God’s punishment for those who follow the false prophet”¦ it was no coincidence it was close to Christmas!”

I am not sure who you refer to as the false prophet, since you mention Christmas I can only assume you refer to Jesus.
If you do, then know that Jesus (Isa ibn Maryam pbuh) was not a false prophet but he was a prophet of Allah, born of a Virgin birth. He Spoke in the cradle and worked miracles by the permission of Allah, but Allah has not partner and no son.

However Is Allah angry that they (Christians) worship Isa? Of Course

“And they say ‘Allah Most Compassionate has begotten a son!’. Indeed you have put forth a thing most monstrous! The skies are ready to burst (at such a claim), and the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin. That they should ascribe a son to the Most Compassionate…

I don’t think the verse referred to any mountains actually splitting asunder or any skies actually bursting. Had that actually occured we may not be alive today to comment about it.

What the verse does say is as followed.

…The skies are ready to burst (at such a claim), and the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin….

    2) The Tang Shan earthquake in China in 1976, which killed between 200,000 and 800,000 people was “God Gift” to “Pig Sucker”

I suppose perhaps God was against what the Communist were doing to their people and Tang Shan is actually meaning China. So are you referring yourself Sucking the Pig or being sucked by a Pig?..Discriminative pig head.

  30. crocketman says:

Wow is all I can say about “women may have been the cause of the Asian tsunami”.

Firstly look at our Mother Earth historically – she is a very pretty planet but also she is very dynamic, meaning there’s been a LOT of movement over the course of the milleniums. That means countless earthquakes and volcano eruptions of a sizes. I know that many Indonesians still do not know that Toba sprouted a blast so large it nearly wiped out the entire planet. Do a google of Toba eruption.

Secondly, for those that have these wierd askewed religious views, the best thing you can do for yourself is go to Yemen and stay there for at least 2 months, better if 6 or more. This place is in a time warp and worse it is moving in reverse. Anything that a woman does is controlled by men. If they have done something deemed unethical you can be sure it started out in the hands (and genitals) and minds of men.

Religion gives simple guidleines. no stealing for one. It’s not an avenue for making up some rampant hypothesis about why things happen. Look ahead people, given the chance women could do a whole lot better at running things, women have an instrinsic natural intererest of caring and not killing. I look forward to the day when – if ever – women have a near equal say and counterbalance the mens warmongering.

BTW – I am a male – with an absolute 50/50 outlook at life and at home, my child has an equal right at anything she may want to do, and that 50/50 includes believing only 50% of what I hear or read until further proof comes in.
