Police Officers Positive Image Building

Feb 25th, 2009, in News, by

A provincial police chief on Java requires policemen to improve their image by being seen as religiously observant.

The police chief of East Java, Brigadier General Anton Bachrul Alam, has issued an instruction to his Muslim officers that they should perform five daily prayers while on duty. Upon hearing the call to prayer policemen are instructed to leave their desks and head to the nearest mosque or musholla.

If they are dealing with a member of the public at the time and that person is a Muslim then he is to be invited along, while if he is non-Muslim he is to be asked to wait.

They are also expected to learn to read the Quran in off-duty time, to the point where they able to recite the 30 juz, or parts, which is what Muslims normally do during Ramadhan. Those who are already proficient at this are asked to read aloud the 30 juz in their offices after morning prayers.

If there is no mosque attached to a police station policemen are asked to go the nearest public mosque. Anton says this would be a good way of mixing with the people and building trust, and also that those who pray in a jamaah, or group, get 27 times more bonus points from God than those who pray alone.

It’s difficult to change the culture [in the police force] unless efforts are grounded in religion.

Police officers of other faiths are instructed to gather together and pray for ten minutes, presumably five times a day, or do whatever it is that non-Muslims do on such occasions. detik

Seriously, cuk, why do you blame the bules for that particular conflict?

Visitors who’d like to get antidot for this disinformation are suggested to read this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_India (section “Conversion controversy”).

Oh… not again, the victim card again, huh? *Yawn*

And…, how does your response answer the question I posed to to you? Why do you blame the bules for the conflict between muslim and hindu in india? I don’t see much of bule involvements there.

First of all tell PLN to cut off your electricity, then get rid of your hand phone and phone line, then get rid of your car, by then your internet connection will be gone, so tell me what’s left? You pathetic excuse for a human being, what have you got left?? Zero!! All bule inventions by the way, when are you going to stop being so stupid and envious of what the West has provided for you?

    I replied:

I believe Mas Achmad Sudarsono had adequately responded to the above in another thread. Why repeat something that is going to embarass you.

    Then you wrote:

Sorry moron it’s the first time I’ve written this, btw have you called PLN in yet??

You do suffer a severe case of amnesia. Like all Bules, you needed to have your face rubbed in the gravel by Brown man. Here it is (with time and date):

Once more I’ll repeat myself and this is the last time, as you people are getting rather tiresome with the same old boring rhetoric, and if you don’t have the intelligence to answer my questions I’ll understand.

    (1) Where did your hand phone, electricity, television, cars, Etc., come from?

    (2) In the last one hundred years what technology has Islam given to the world?

    Schmerly Yth,

The reason we’re not answering is probably because it’s hard to find any intelligence in the question.

    1) Technology doesn’t come from “races” like “white,” “brown,” or “black.” Technology is the sum total of a series of ideas from many people, thousands, tens of thousands, maybe more. Sure, some people, have contributed more than others, but technology’s a team effort.

That you are unaware of the basic history of technology, I think, is a standard tactic of The White Man to deny the contributions of Hindu, Chinese and Arab civilizations. Some, of course, comes from aliens – see my earlier posting on that.

    2) What has Islam given the world ? Hmmm, it’s given them Islam, Schmerly.

    Technology doesn’t come from religions.

It comes from people, from scientists, from engineers, inventors, financiers, the consumers that make up markets, a big, complex matrix.

I think subconsciously you’re making an ignorant and uninformed reference to a popular argument in the last few years articulated in “What Went Wrong,” by Bernard Lewis. But, sorry, old chap, I can’t make your arguments for you.

As mentioned, I think you better make a start studying The Pancasila and history of Mojopahit. Then we can start working on your ocean-wide ignorance.

Silenced by the Keris of Mojopahit.

    @ Assmads Bitch..

    My answer:

The system in the west works, period! albeit recently there are problems, apart from that where did your hand phone, electricity, television, cars, Etc., come from? The WEST!! Where would you be without all this WESTERN technology, you certainly wouldn’t be on this blog, sheer envy and jealousy of the west is what fires your hatred up.
Get off your soap box and stop trying to preach.

    My answer

    (1) Where did your hand phone, electricity, television, cars, Etc., come from?
    (2) In the last one hundred years what technology has Islam given to the world?

And I’m still waiting for a sensible answer? or will the aliens give me an answer? Now do you get it or are you going to be a numpty for the rest of your miserable life.

    Mbak,

Bules need to be told from time to time. I am trying to help them.

Only a thousand years ago, their men were still hunting wild animals with spears and their womenfolk collecting wild berries; while we enjoyed nasi padang and watching wayang kulit.

And your still sitting on your arse in the kampung enjoying nasi padang and watching wayang kulit, while the west has advanced and left you behind, but that’s life sunbeam.

  8. Burung Koel says:

I’m always intrigued by those on line or telephone polls. You must have seen or heard of them. There’s a box on the screen, or a phone number on the TV, with a staement about a pertinent or controversial issue. Then there’s three options: ‘Agree’, ‘Disagree’ or ‘Don’t Know’.

Maybe I don’t understand human psychology here, but why would anyone take the trouble and effort to call in or press the button marked ‘Don’t Know’?

    I’m just sayin’.

  9. Aluang Anak Bayang says:
