Islam’s relationship to terrorism.
In the wake of the recent bomb attack in Palu the Jakarta Post and other commentators have trotted out the familiar line: “It’s nothing to do with religion”. In a sense they are right. The bombers, and their victims, are not in any theological dispute. They are not attacking each other over differences in opinions on the question of human free will in relation to an omnipotent God, or any other such abstruse matters.
But let us remove the religious differences for a moment and see what happens. If the only differences between people in Indonesia were non-sectarian, for example class or ethnic ones, would we expect the same levels of conflict? Certainly there would be some, but not at the same level.
Or if we change the religions around a little. If all the Muslims of Indonesia were instead Buddhists, or Hindus, or whatever, would we then see the same amount of terrorism and communal bloodshed?
What many find very hard to think about is that it is the presence of Islam in Indonesia that is the driving force behind the conflicts and attacks. It is true the world over, as reported in the New Criterion.
There are many trouble spots around the world, but as a general rule, it’s easy to make an educated guess at one of the participants: Muslims vs. Jews in “Palestine”, Muslims vs. Hindus in Kashmir, Muslims vs. Christians in Africa, Muslims vs. Buddhists in Thailand, Muslims vs. Russians in the Caucasus, Muslims vs. backpacking tourists in Bali.
Islam & Islamic terrorism are the two sides of the same coin. Islamic terrorism will be there as long as Islam is there.Islamic books provide ideological support to the Jihadis. The ideology teaches existing life as non significant,glorifies death & makes human life very cheap. All terrorist and also Muslims are ass going behind the carrot of heaven. Can any Muslimt
proove the existance of heaven, are terrorist sure of getting heaven? Truely speaking non body knows whether heaven exists or not. It madness and psychological disorder to die or to fight for it.

Nothing to do with religion.
But of course not.
You touched an extremely interesting point here.
Only extremists – the rest of Muslims are peaceful folks.
There are several ways of looking at this problem but one thing is certain;
These extremists take their ideas from The Quran and Hadeth and not because they interpret it wrongly but because all the instructions are there in black and white.
The fact that not all Muslims fight the holy jihad is irrelevant for they will move in as soon as the extremists take over of any part of the world and it will be them (so called Moderates),who will “occupy” the territory, work the land and provide resources to keep the JIhad burning and new willing recruits into the extremist-warrior elites.
In other words the “moderates” or indifrent majority feed (willingly or not)the holy jihad.
