   hmm…i wonder why Purbo Negoro is so worked up abt saying other countries are so full of whores etc etc…how does he know…from the media or first hand knowledge. i think it’s the latter. Will making pornography or prostitution illegal cut down on the any of the intended targets? Probably not, ( dont believe me? check out all the countries that has tried criminalising them) it will drive these things underground, diseases will go unchecked, criminal gangs will dominate these area…( not that they dont already…but thos will only get stronger) so what will these vague, betele-tele law achieve? well it wont stop any of the acts it will just allow employment to narrow-minded religious police so they are able to crack down and have legal right to do so. So i think when people say this is Sharia by stealth, it cannot be anything else but that. anyway maybe purbo negoro is a female who’s worried about the female gender, in that case maybe you can rally for education, morality…then work on reducing poverty so young girls like you dont have to sell their bodies to get money to live…drop the facade we all know what you are up to

Latest theories suggest that the real reason for circumcision was in fact to mash up the genitals of younger male tribe members, thus preventing the older males from being cuckolded.

   God made us perfect in every way did he? That’s why the religious feel it important to hack away at infants genitals is it?

   Given that natural selection/evolution have been proved via millions of pieces of evidence circumcision makes no sense. If there was any survival advantage to not having a foreskin then this would have already been selected for through due evolutionary process.

   Interesting article. It had to happen. This is the year of ‘Visit Indonesia’ and a huge push for more tourists. Malaysia currently has 21m tourists per year, Thailand 14m+ and Singapore about 8m. Indonesia is dragging it’s heels with about 5m. With all the natural beauty under the sun and the 4th largest population in the world something has gone wrong. The backwardness of it’s leaders and the constant grab for money i’d say are a contributing factor. Value the person (and their beliefs) and not just their bank balance then things will improve big time.

Indonesia has serious problems like the missing of a real waste disposing system, clean water, terrific hygienics causing martial diseases, missing stability of electricity supply and over all: the destruction of its rain forests which will be entirely gone in only 14 years if no 180°-changes take place, probably causing a tremendous change in its climate with gravely more catastrophes and boosting global warming and, by the way, erasing its biggest national heritage and causing many animal species to die out.

    1. Your English is very good, you seem to have been educated in a foreign country. I assume the standards of Indonesian Universities were not up to your own expectations. That also means you must belong to the (financial, if not political) upperclass in Indonesia – otherwise you would not have been able to afford the education.
    2. So, you come to another country. But hey, in Indonesia, your the king as you have money. Here, you are just an average Joe. You don’t look very pretty either (why would anybody otherwise pose in military apparel on a blogging site?), so you don’t have the success with girls (or guys?) you wish you had.
    3. You come back home and find that your foreign education has helped a lot but the stupid bule who was just flown over by his company got your job anyways – because his skin is white. So you are frustrated.
    4. You don’t want other people have more fun/success than you and do what you can to limit them.

    There you go. Maybe 80% wrong, but I bet some truth in it.

    No in Britain at least circumcision is not available on the NHS so parents would have to pay for it. It was decided long ago that there is no medical benefit and parents who ask for it on any other than religious grounds are advised that this cannot be done in the hospital but must take place elsewhere.

    That of course does not exclude the number of rare cases of phimosis, (tight foreskin) which is a medical condition and will be treated usually by other than surgical means. An irreverent surgeon friend of mine would always first recommend that a sufferer place his penis between two bars of Lifeboy soap and give it a good whack!

    Is it that easy yeah? I am actually trying very hard to get a visa for my Indonesian girlfriend who has an excellent education. It is not that easy. Or do you consider the daughters of your country lower than “lowest-grade Blacks and Pakistanis”? It is very easy to explain any problems by going back to racial stereotypes. How far do you want to go with this? Can you name examples where anything good came from racism? The fact is that the UK has hugely benefited from the import of labor.

    It is a big mistake to assume that because of the financial crisis everything is in ruins now. It is called recession, it will go away. My advice: Buy shares now. The US has a GDP of 13 trillion – 700 billion is peanuts compared to that. Even in the worst of recessions, the average living standard in the US or Europe is still tenfold higher than in Indonesia. You cannot even feed the children on the streets of Jakarta, your Government is corrupt. Any problem, solve it with money – are these your moral standards?

    I’ll go one further. Although I don’t agree with 90% of what Purba says he is pretty much speaking from the heart of the average Indonesian. I read only the other day that it is hard to station Indonesians in their consulate offices around Australia because 95 % harbour negative views about us. Most based on emotion and lies. This is the way they are raised by their own leaders so it is not the fault of Purba or any individual. The country has a lot of waking up to do. Now look, on face value Indonesians are warm and friendly people and nice to socialise with but we just have to keep in mind they may not like us the way we think they do.

    Well it’s law now so we’ll have to see what happens. Indonesia passes many laws that are totally ignored of course. Porn has ALWAYS been illegal here but the streets are awash with it in Jakarta. What’s worrying is that this new legislation seems to give carte blanche to vigilate groups and religious style police like they have in the Middle East and even Malaysia. It’ll be the women who suffer as much misogeny is vented…meanwhile over in Java a 12 year old girl gets married…should send the vigilantes over there.
