Bad Impressions & Mumbai

Dec 2nd, 2008, in News, by

The Mumbai terror attacks heighten resolve in Indonesia to fight terrorism, and dealing with wrong impressions about religion.

The head of the Islam section of the Department of Religion, Prof Dr Nasaruddin Umar, said recently, before the Mumbai terror attacks, that there was something wrong with the Muslim community these days, what with antara

  • a great amount of fragmentation,
  • the rise of hardline groups,
  • increasing occurrence of terrorism

He put the problems down to the global capitalist system, which forced people to see things in rational, pragmatic, profit & loss terms, and then they lost the spiritual essence of religion, with only rituals remaining.

Khalifatul Muslimin

One such possible hardline group, Khalifatul Muslimin, recently had to defend itself against accusations that it was carrying out para-military training at Bumi Perkemahan, Ragunan, South Jakarta.

Panji Sudiro from Khalifatul Muslimin said the group was only holding martial arts training in preparation for cadets to advance to the next level, and that Khalifatul Muslimin, although it believed in Islamic leadership (khilafah), had no political goals and no connection to the Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI) (see Mujahidin Council Unwelcome).

The organisation was founded by Abdul Qodir Hasan Baraja in Lampung in 2004, and has around 5,000 members. tempo

Terrorism – Mumbai

Meanwhile, on the issue of terrorism, Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) figure Mutammimul Ula said he was very concerned that the terrorist attacks in Bombay/Mumbai, India would have a negative effect on the image of Islam.

The people who are claiming responsibility call themselves “Deccan Mujahideen”, their name has an Islamic sound to it.

He worried that the public would develop the impression that Islam was synonymous with terrorism.

Mutammimul Ula

India had recently been the target of many extremist and separatist attacks, he said, and on behalf of the PKS he expressed condolences to the people there. kompas

The president of India, Pratibha Devisighn Patil, is in Indonesia and visited the parliament in Jakarta today, and met its chairman Hidayat Nur Wahid of PKS. Hidayat said to her: detik

We are united [India & Indonesia] in rejecting terrorism and working together to deal with it. The religions of the world do not teach violence, religion is actually a victim of terrorism.

Diego said: without whom you would be nothing.
Wormwail (who thinks he’s a dragon): I don’t need that! All I need to know is what I had achieve that is far fetch for you. Perpahs when you try harder you also may. But definitely not right now.

    Dragonwail,

Wow, what a desagradecido mofoching. Let’s just assume you really are what you claim to be, a “successful” professional…. Now think again, where did your parents get the money to pay your tuition from. Let me rephrase: Whom did they rob it from?

Your squealings are boring and pointless. You seem to suffer from this holier-than-thou mentality. I don’t see any difference between you and those islamist bigots. It’s only that you have slanted eyes, and look a bit uglier (bitternes do bad things to one’s face, did you know that?).

I suggest that you go back to your cubicle and swallow this: you have all the faults for your bitterness toward indonesians. Next time try beeing much less arrogant and stop being such a pinche ojete.

Oh, you mispelled “perhaps”… perpahs… peh peh peh lah.

Wow, what a desagradecido mofoching. Let’s just assume you really are what you claim to be, a “successful” professional….

Is that what you’ve got mofopri?

Now think again, where did your parents get the money to pay your tuition from. Let me rephrase: Whom did they rob it from?

Then you should do some home work and backtrack where my parents got money to pay my tuition. I suppose people like you are always on the move to think that every chinese steals from someone, or is that the other way round. We are considered to be the descendants from the very first generations of chinese that migrated to Singapore long before you and or your parents were even born. So it had certainly in many way displayed that you are so poor that you envy and become jealous of the chinese in Indonesia and elsewhere because of what you are.

Anyway I worked by way to pay for my tuitions, my parents didn’t. So where did your parents stole their money from to get you to be educated and most of the time sarcarstic even to your own people and above all maids.
This clearlt also display that you can’t even afford a maid at home and that any maid that works for any one should deserve harsh treatment or is that the other way round that some of the maids that you and your family may have hired had some sexual encounter that you despise their presence?

Your squealings are boring and pointless. You seem to suffer from this holier-than-thou mentality.

And I do suppose you are referng this to yourself, right? Sqealing like a worm wailing with joy being comprised by a stick in your arse. And yet you dare tell others that they are

in no way any difference between those islamist bigots.

    When you start saying this

It’s only that you have slanted eyes, and look a bit uglier (bitternes do bad things to one’s face, did you know that?).

You have expose yourself to become one person that envy other’s that have slanted eyes which you don’t have.
Don’t try and forget that history have been retold over and over again that it is because these people that have slanted eyes are those that had made themselves big and proven to be someone in the economic circle.

Definitely not with people like you.

And this is what I will also say to you

I suggest that you go back to your cubicle and swallow this: you have all the faults for your bitterness toward indonesians and other chinese. Next time try beeing much less arrogant and stop being such a pinche ojete.

Yeah pinch me so that I could erect.

So you think you write better english and yet you can’t differentiate between a mispell or typo error.

Oh, you mispelled “perhaps”… perpahs… peh peh peh lah.

Ya that is why the Indonesian were made to peh peh peh lah..oops misspell should be pay pay pay lah for your own cause.

Besides that what have you got, sarcarstic arrogant bastard like you.

You were saying someone started! Did you started that with a ching? Does that ring a bell to you. What I ccan gather is that Kalau kamu di stut maka undang gebuk massa.

That is the kind of people I always call them coward. You know a cow that walk in an awkward way like a stick stuck up in their arse.

  3. dragonwall says:

    Indian.

There were some that always accused others of stealing things from Indonesia so

Indonesia was referred in the Hindu scriptures as “swarana Dwipa (Borneo) , Bali dwipa”. These are ancient name

Does this Bali dwipa constitute and consdiered to be stealing from the Hindu heritage?

You see many of them could go on and on making accusation without instrospecting themselves on a broader scope by reflecting to what was writtenn in history books.

They in general simply just like to write and say what they want to hear, not what they should understood.

Good Job Indian. Interesting write out on Hinduism. Should serve as an eye opener for them.

I am trying to lear how to be sarcarstic in writing, rather than making sense to others.

    Venakam.

  4. Irene says:

@indian: knocking some sense into an ethnocentric person is like talking to a rock. its a lost cause. you’ve probably realized that by now. i mean, when someone says “java culture is second to none”, you know they’re done for.

@diego: you speak of this holier than thou attitude while at the same time calling dragonwall names. are you really that shallow? here, let me whip out an indonesian proverb for you: air beriak tanda tak dalam.

  5. Pakmantri says:

    air beriak tanda tak dalam

    Or “tong kosong nyaring bunyinya”.

And I think they also forget this, “when you point a finger to a person there are three fingers pointing back at you”.

    @Om Patung,
Maybe you should run a new thread with a title of “Bad impresions on Dragonwall and Diego”. 😀

    Salam.

  6. dragonwall says:

You were right with the quotes especially

    Or “tong kosong nyaring bunyinya”.

People who talk without making sense and you were also right by saying

when you point a finger to a person there are three fingers pointing back at you”.

So you three of them and

Bad impresions on Dragonwall and Diego”.

Which part of the bad impression I gave to you? You think you only have the right to comment and not rebutt a single bit yourself?

Everything needs to be introspected before going on to make comments.
While I appreciate you telling this guy if that is what you mean and you may also be saying that to me or Indian or Irene, you should follow the thread from where it began before coming to a conclusion or any conclusion.

I will not comment of this until you proceed a little further. I have said earlier when you throw a stone at someone be expected to be thrown a bigger stone.

Earlier Patung came in on another thread at Maid Abuse and said that I misunderstood his comment as he meant to be sacarstic. I know that is why I am throwing him a bigger stone no doubt about that.

People who enjoys making sarcarstic remarks on other’s misfortune is by no mean a mean of dignity especially a maid, do you?.

So does he deserve any or do I need to show him any kind of respect?

    Big 0.

An intellectual person, educated or illiterate, should stand alone on unbias and non prejudicial ground. If that goes beyond insults and putdowns couple with sarcarcsm then that person should deserve what he is given, nothing less bar none.

Reading through his remarks had shown that he had not done his homework. And I think he owe the maid an apology for being sacarstic, and I mean if he’s got the balls to admit being vindictive on a person that bear no grudge with him.

  7. diego says:

when you point a finger to a person there are three fingers pointing back at you”.

So you three of them and

That says it all. You have such a dark heart, don’t you. It’s only hate and anger that you have inside. Pathetic.

Did you realize that Irene stood by yourside, and Pakmantri was neutral. And then you just blindly slapped them? Wow. It’s surprising what hate can do to people.

Look, I don’t hate chinese as a race / nation. I used racial slurs spefically toward this dragonwall, in hope that at least he learned “kalau gak mau dicubit ya jangan mencubit”. But I guess the old proverb “never try to teach a pig to sing” shines here in this dragonwal case. So I will stop trying to “teach” this pathetic dragonwall.

I’ve been following indonesiamatters for quite some time, and I notice that this dragonwall has been hijacking this forum to insult indonesian people on the base on their race. I’ve seen him referring to indonesians as stupids, lazies, poor, backward, etc.

Fine som indonesians are stupid, lazies, poor, backward, you name that. But I don’t think we really need such a pathetic person such as dragonwall yelling it out to us constantly. It’s boring and really gets annoying after sometime. Beside, who does he think he is? He’s not Bill Gates, who actually has done real things to help people around the world. This dragonwall probably is just a pathetic white-collar worker in some trading company in singapore, who contributes nothing to the society.

I was wodnering, what has gone wrong with him? I was just guessing, maybe he used to have a plan to run a “business” in Indonesia, hoping that he could take andvantage of some indonesian poeple he thought were easy to fool. But it turned out a fracaso, and then he start blaming all indonesians for that failure, and then he jumped on to singapore, where he does his thing (making money to continue on living, and bitching about indonesians). I’ve seen such person before. Really pathetic.

  8. dragonwall says:

    Sorry to Irene and Pakmantri.

In thiese blogs there are numerous people like this sh*t who die and go. These idiots tends to be elliptical by phrasing in such a way to misrepresent the fact by implying.

Did you realize that Irene stood by yourside, and Pakmantri was neutral. And then you just blindly slapped them?

When you type fast there tend to have typo error which I ought to mean to him that

when you point a finger to a person there are three fingers pointing back at you

meaning that with this there are three fingers pointing back at him meaning me, Irene and (though neutral) Pakmantri.

This are people whom I would consider him to be bickering with words like

It’s surprising what hate can do to people.

    And by saying these

Look, I don’t hate chinese as a race / nation. I used racial slurs spefically toward this dragonwall, in hope that at least he learned “kalau gak mau dicubit ya jangan mencubit”. But I guess the old proverb “never try to teach a pig to sing” shines here in this dragonwal case.

Whether you hate Chinese or not as a person or nation you have already shown outright and need no explaination. And please go and teach pigs like yourself. Just look how pathetic you are. Learning those pick and choose.

I am sure they realized that I am not referring that to them.

I’ve been following indonesiamatters for quite some time, and I notice that this dragonwall has been hijacking this forum to insult indonesian people on the base on their race.

And you said things like hijacking!. No only terrorist like you does the hijacking. And that was what you did and you can consider when I commented in these forums I ticked on people and person in particular.

Please enlightened me by showing us where and when have I insulted Indonesian people base on their race? If you do not understand, please shut the f*ck up. Since you said you have been following the indonesiamatters for quite some time, you didn’t realize that my children are also Indonesians?

Please show me when have I said

I’ve seen him referring to indonesians as stupids, lazies, poor, backward, etc.

as a whole except in exceptional case when referring to a particular case on a particular type of people.

You acted like somewhat a hero in displaying your nationalism so when youa cted in such pathetic manner no one pity you.

You live in hope and ide in despair.

I was wodnering, what has gone wrong with him? I was just guessing, maybe he used to have a plan to run a “business” in Indonesia, hoping that he could take andvantage of some indonesian poeple he thought were easy to fool.

So when you said you have been following indonesiamatter for quite some time, I guess not.

I’ve seen such person before. Really pathetic.

Right the one right in front of me so pathetic when idiot with putdown on others english should reflect himself and should have die and go..

What else do you have bitching around others prosperity. Dig from the start before you comment. then asked.

    WHO IS INDONESIAN HATER.
    WHO IS CHINESE HATER.
    WHO CAPITALIZED ON INDONESIANS PEOPLE.
    WHO INSULTED INDONESIAN PEOPLE.

When you refer to the word people you are bring the whole issue by making them the majority. In my case what I commented are to person in particular.

Since you did not understand much about english, what can I say.

Again I apologize to Irene and Pakmantri due to typo error that someone capitalize on that to create a HATE issue.

  9. dragonwall says:

Let me continue to say and point to you how you reflect to someone’s comment.

you speak of this holier than thou attitude while at the same time calling dragonwall names. are you really that shallow? here, let me whip out an indonesian proverb for you: air beriak tanda tak dalam.

She was actually referring to you and is there any reason for me to jump at her? Not for any person who is rational except radicals like you.

    And

And I think they also forget this, “when you point a finger to a person there are three fingers pointing back at you

He is referring to both person because of absurdity use by you and that for sure I will act in reciprocity that might take up a lot of space.

You can continue with whatever you want at any blog any place anytime. And I am sure you will come craving for more.

    sory for poor english.

i just lookin arrd, and i want write my opinion here.

for the 1st time i was afried, coz so many bad image about indonesia. Yet after i came and live here, i found so many goodthings than that bad. I love this country.
But i always cant find the answer “why rich country like indonesia, has so much hutang?”
it silly! I ever read in a newspaper, mostly investor in singapore are indonesian. They (chinese-indonesian) prefer invest in sing, than indonesia. I keep askin “Why? why?” If the answer about race, maybe they never think they r indonesian, coz indonesia has too many race/culture, and they not include them.
I often meet ppl so rasist, like in china or even in sing.

I am sad also upset, to know there is someone hate indonesia, like u. Talk about indonesiamatter with anger without solution. U judge indonesia bad, it very childesh! look at ur self, r u good enough? Maybe yes, maybe not. Ur hearth is very dark, i saw.

  11. Odinius says:

    Hi Akina:

You are right that the reality of Indonesia does not match its international reputation. It’s very poor, but so are most developing world countries. It has terrorism and violence, but less than a number of other countries. People are generally nice and helpful to strangers, and inviting to foreigners. Plus the food is great.

On the Chinese situation, I should point out that the biggest investors in Singapore are not Indonesian. The biggest investors in Singapore are Singaporean. Other biggies come from places like the US, Japan, etc., all of whom do so because it’s as close to a sure thing as you can get, investment wise. Lower risk than Dubai; higher yield than Monaco. When Indonesians–Chinese or otherwise–invest in the Singaporean economy, it’s for much the same reason.

The problem with the Chinese and non-Chinese Indonesian situation, as I see it, is that people are still divided by the racial system imposed by the Dutch. At that time, the Chinese were to be the businessmen and the “natives” were to be the aristocrats, peasants and laborers. This situation bred resentment on both sides, which was exacerbated and exploited by the New Order regime, which basically ruled Indonesia just like the Dutch did, only with a greater degree of meddling in people’s lives, papered over by a thin coat of nationalism and Pancasila. So you ended up with a Chinese community that was economically powerful and politically powerless, and a non-Chinese majority that was politically powerful but resented the economic position of the Chinese.

Thankfully things have started changing since reformasi. In my opinion, as soon as everyone can say: “ethnic Chinese and ethnic Javanese are equally Indonesian,” then the problems start to go away.

Trying to understand the Mumbai Attack drama as very well played by the Indian Agency Raw, India still not convinced the world that they have any valid proof of that, the master mind of this attack “Ajmal Qasab” has slaughtered about 50 or 60 including foreigners people in that incident but freed to go a Jewish family, however everybody in the whole world knows better that a Muslim Enthusiast shall never leave a Jewish, I am still not understand or solve this question should anyone among of you can answer this?
