Islam Revert

Dec 20th, 2008, in News, by

A teenage Australian girl from sunny Queensland finds Islam in Lampung and becomes a revert.

Kim, or Kimi, otherwise known as “KimDonesia” (Kim + Indonesia), a 17 year old Australian from Queensland, the Sunshine state, once lived in Lampung, southern Sumatra, for six months, accompanying her step-father who worked for a sugar company, Gula Putih Mataram (GPM).

While in Lampung she says she studied Islam, and was moved by the passionate devotion of the people there to the religion, and finally fell in love with it, particularly the sound of the call to prayer.

After moving back to Australia she converted to the faith, or reverted as she would have it. Here she explains, in rather good Indonesian, how she came to live in Indonesia in 2007:

In this video she explains her religious journey – from Wiccan moon worshipping, to nothing in particular, to Islam – she even has the pronunciation right, Islaaam, – and how living in Lampung and talking to the people there was one of the keys to her decision to throw her lot in with Allah.

Youtube Mission

Kimdonesia has in the short time since her conversion this year produced dozens of Islamic dakwah (missionary) videos on Youtube, and has a bit of a following among some Indonesians, at http://www.youtube.com/user/KimDonesia.

Our puny little bigot Mike is bailing out.

So why not you try answering some of the questions put forth which he avoided?

    *******************************

The same goes for you. What right do you have to accuse the ones in the middle east as con men? Who’s to say Joyoboyo was not a conman?

If they were not conmen, then they were certainly misled by lesser gods. Any creator with a bit of brain would choose Javanese as prophets.

Well at least the Abrahamic religions are infinitely more successful, by any indicators than Joyoboyo’s (had to Wikipedia to even know what it was).

If you don’t know who Joyoboyo is, what the hell you doing in IM? What is you measurement of ‘successful’?

Though a cynic like Diego can argue that perhaps the conmen from middle east were far better than the ones from Java.

Every single Javanese is a prophet unto himself. I have not read what he wrote but if he is from the Nusantara (your imaginary biblical Garden of Eden) then he is a living God. Pay some respect to him and you get respect in return. We as living Gods and Prophets have no time for followers of lesser middle eastern gods.

However if you allow yourself to be open to ideas AAB. Then perhaps …. maybe…..

Looks who is talking. Someone who have not heard or even read our sacred book wanted me to open to ideas. Have you read the I Ching?

Hmm based on his previous posts …. im predicting a condescending, insult laced refute from AAB, that goes along… Java great this, Java great that (insert random stereotypes) (insert “facts”) and so forth. That sums up to: I’m right. You’re an Idiot. Full stop.

The idiot here is you. Javanese do not believe in divine toilet etiquette like “when you poo, put pressure on your left leg”, or medical miracle like “left wing of fly is poison, right wing is detox”. Unbelieveing is what makes the Javanese GREAT.

    A teaser for you:

So who was the one cruxified on the cross: Jesus or Judas? (don’t try to avoid this question. Smart person like you will have the answer right away).)

If you said Jesus, you will upset the moslems. If Judas is the one you picked, the christian will be offended.

  2. mike says:

AAB & Diego : Seriously guys, both of you should get together : ) , seems like you two have so much in commons. No fees for my matchmaking service : )

    hahahaha… this is a good one : )

let me see if understand this correctly, every Javanese is a god. At the same time, every Javanese is a prophet.

Sounds like a mental disorder to me, but let me tell you what you need to add to this philosophical phenomenon : every person who believes in this a lunatic, every person who believe in this is a narcissist, ego maniac, and need some serious therapy.

    I like you AAB, you’re a nut !

    Re:

Why is Pralembang Joyoboyo any less truth than the quran and the bible? Have you read our Javanese sacred book? How can you easily dismiss the Javanese or other nationals like the Indian or the Chinese, and concluded that the creator choses prophets from the Middle East? You sneaky brainless bigot, you were born either a moslem or a christian, and decide that your parents got them right. You can’t think out of the square, can you?

    You silence is deafening.

Since you know not our great Joyoboyo and refused to state your ethnicity, I can only deduce you are an Arab living in a western country because your own country is in a hellhole. Javanese prefer their own island paradise.

  4. mike says:

AAB: I think you’re the one should try to be silent, because the more you make comments, the more people realize just how crazy you are …

How many people have you insulted with your last comment man ? and I am sorry, if Java is a paradise, i am not sure if I want to go there.

Every place that you go, there will be goods and bads, that’s just how life is. I agree with you, Java has some nice places, nice people, nice foods, but again, it’s not the perfect place. The government has oppressed so many people, has stolen so much money beyond imagination, and I think Indonesia is one of the highest level of corruptions in the world, and it all originates from Java.

What makes you so proud ? your great Sontoloyo book that no one ever heard of except your “partner” diego ? If your great Javanese philosophy is so good, then prove it by improving the life of the people over there. Don’t just say it in theory, but show it to us how this is going to benefit our life !

    AAB wrote:

… I can only deduce you are an Arab living in a western country because your own country is in a hellhole. Javanese prefer their own island paradise.

From your babbling and AAB comment, I also deduce that you’re an arab, deeply entrenched in your abrahamic mumbo jumbos full of stories of a distant ever-angry god. You’re not aware that most east-asians (esp. the hindus and buddhist) are not sharing that same view of “god”. We do believe “god” is within each and every living creatures, etc etc. Thus AAB was correct when he said that every single person is god, and also a prophet for himself (for his job is to uncover that “god”). We’re not obsessed with funny stories like those of your egomaniac, hungry for acknowledgement prophets.

    Further you (mickey) babbled:

… your great Sontoloyo book that no one ever heard of except your “partner” diego ?

It only proves again your ignorance. Most of indonesians know the name joyoboyo and some stories around it.

… If your great Javanese philosophy is so good, then prove it by improving the life of the people over there.

If abrahamic “foolosophy” is so good, then prove it by improve the life of the people in… afganisthan, pakistan, saudi arabia (not those syeikh bathing in petroleum but the peasants, esp. women), basically all those “islamic countries”. Israel is no exception, look how they’re suffering from bombardment and all those shitty terrors. Poor them. Why did they insist on having their country in the “promised land”, together with the savages arab, instead of in quiet place such as argentina (ha ha, another result of believing too much in abrahamic mumbo jumbo).

  6. mike says:

hahahaha diego, you crack me up : ) … you’re just as crazy as your “partner” … get a life man, you’re wasting my time !

  7. mike says:

AAB & diego: I’m an indonesian, so stop making assumptions, making crazy statements about arabs, because both of you are going to cause many angers. Ok? be civilized for God’s sake !

  8. DumadiSatrio says:

Pak AAB, will you be my guru?
I want to convert to Javanese.

I know my blood is not tiyang Jawa, but with ngelmu klenik maybe I can become like wong.

And I dont even need to worry about betraying my culture or religion, because I’m American, so I dont really have any.

but my roso sejati is jawa, Pak AAB.

Please think about it, with your blessing, I know I can become Javanese.

  9. jen says:

I don’t understand why this is a big deal. I have a religion as a medium for me to interact with my God.
But I don’t see how if someone from other believe convert to what I believe in or the other way around will make me a better or worse person.
Or it’s that important to be debated in a forum like this.
    But it’s just me

  10. MishMash says:

    Sorry when I said:

To sum it up: I’m right. Your an Idiot. Fullstop.

I wasn’t referring to you being an Idiot. I was predicting that your reply to my post would be summed up to “you” telling me that “you” (AAB) is right, and I’m an idiot.

I rushed and I should have phrased it better. However if you read my post again, it seems that my prediction of your reply, have been quite accurate. LOL.

Does that make me a prophet? Hey I should make a book too. I’ll be sure to have lots of Javanese followers, seeing how gullible and utterly superstitious you lot are.

It will be called the book of Ka Ching Ching Chong.

    Elect me president
    Become my cronies
No bribes! Just some side money please…
… and I shall promise thee… the garden of Edan…..

    To answer your questions.
My measurements of successful, on general, I was refering to the lasting power of the religion and the degree of its exposure.

    Your second question.
Christians Believe Jesus. Moslems believe it was Judas. Jews…. didn’t even believe in Jesus in the first place.
There are slight differing views of the three Abrahamic religions. Your question was nothing more than a bait.

    On a side note.

The Abrahamic religions are unique from in its concept of monotheism. The belief that there is only ONE god.

It is different from a Polytheistic and Pantheism Javanese religion (as you have described). In that you believe in many Gods
Pantheism is the view that everything is part of god. Or god itself.

Monotheism is also unique in that it does not attribute god to a celestial object, ie. Sun, Moon, Stars or any physical object for that matter. Ie Trees, Mountains, ….Humans? (in your case)

Monotheism asserts itself by opposing polytheism and Pantheism (your religion)

There has been Many Many Many polytheist religions (such as yours) in the past ages. And many more that have been long forgotten and ceased to exists.

To name a few would be the Nordic, the ancient Greek, the Egyptians (Pharoahs anyone?), the Wiccan, the Caanite… The Javanese (apparently), Celtic and the list goes on.

There are many more perhaps no one will ever know about, as they have died out and no trace is left.

Furthermore, with the advent of globalisation, more and more people are converting into one of those 3 religions.

And the way I see it, is that though (abrahamic religion) has its minor differences, it originated from the same roots, and worships the same god.

Yours however…. are a dying breed.

  11. Aluang Anak Bayang says:

    @ MishMash

I overestimated you. I was expecting something of a substance and was amazed at your amateurish response.

    To answer your questions.
My measurements of successful, on general, I was refering to the lasting power of the religion and the degree of its exposure.

How naif. “If it lasts, then it has to be true” – this is what sets us apart from your kind. You are not just an idiot, you are stupid as well. We do not need any divine book or prophet to tell us our toilet etiquette, respect of elders and hell fire for sinners. Equality of gender and a ‘can-do’ attitude amongst others, were so deeply imbedded in our psyche since time immemoral. It is this very concept that modern humans tried to immitate and achieve, but which comes naturally in every child born in the nusantara. The pribumis have to be living gods and prophets, if not what are we then?

    Your second question.
Christians Believe Jesus. Moslems believe it was Judas. Jews…. didn’t even believe in Jesus in the first place.
There are slight differing views of the three Abrahamic religions. Your question was nothing more than a bait.

The question of either Jesus or Judas skewered on the cross is only a trick question for someone who do not have the answer. Not knowing who’s that creep hanging up killed millions. It is what helps in maintaining the ‘lasting power of the religion and the degree of its exposure’. Why? Because we have 2 lethal opposing groups breeding as many as they can to shout each other down. Guess what, we Javanese has the answer.

Ps. Let’s not get the Jews involved. Theirs is the original version. The 2 others are clones.

Yours however…. are a dying breed.

We do need resilent believer dumwits like youself to multiply. Middle eastern women are very beautiful but most are uneducated which make them stubborn and very dumb. Their ongoing religious conflicts will create orphanged pretty chicks. Javanese can ship them to Java island, fornicate with them to reproduce the best looking Javanese species. We are that smart.

    Wasalam.

    @ DumadiSatrio

    Hi, and welcome to IM.

I have more than a dozen posters who actually asked if I did write any book, and many seeking advises due my Javanese connection. I am a very busy man and unfortunately, had not been able to attend to everyone’s needs. Being Javanese is easy. For beginner like yourself, post intelligently and you can feel that Javanese blood running through your vein. However in the near future, I am thinking of creating a non-profitable Javanese Starter Pack CDs to benefit all non-Javanese (especially Middle Easterns). Your monetary contribution to a good cause will be very much appreciated.

    Kind regards.

  15. Elijah says:

For those who do not believe, the life of this world is
painted in glowing colors and they laugh at those who believe.
But on the Day of Resurrection, those who fear [and respect]
Allah will be over them. Allah provides for whoever
    He wills without any reckoning.
    (Surat al-Baqara, 212)

These are Allah’s limits [that He has established for humanity]. As for those who obey Allah and His messenger, We will admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing under them, remaining in them timelessly, forever. That is the Great Victory. As for those who disobey Allah and His messenger and overstep the limits [that He has established for humanity], We will admit them into a Fire, remaining in it timelessly, forever. They will have a humiliating punishment. (Surat an-Nisa’, 13-14)

Alas for My servants! No messenger comes to them without their mocking him. (Surah Ya Sin, 30)

Their evil deeds will appear before them, and the things they mocked will engulf them. They will be told: “Today We have forgotten you, just as you forgot the meeting of this your Day. Your refuge is the Fire and you have no helpers, because you mocked Allah’s signs and the life of this world deluded you.” Therefore, today they will not get out of it and will be unable to appease Allah. (Surat al-Jathiyya, 33-35)

Those who did evil used to laugh at those who believed. When they passed by them, they would wink at one another. When they returned to their families, they would make a joke of them. When they saw them, they would say: “Those people are misguided.” (Surat al-Mutaffifin, 29-32)

Our Prophet (saas) said in one of his hadiths that “whoever remains patient, Allah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, volume 2, book 24, hadith no. 548.)

  16. Rob says:

    Mike…

Gotta say that I never would have thought that I would be in support of AAB on anything. However, the man has a point if You did not answer the questions he posed. Interestingly, You have resorted (or is it reverted?) to personal attacks about whether he was abused as a child or needs medication.

I think this is what the call argumentum ad hominem, isn’t it?

  17. mike says:

    Rob …

I am sorry, I don’t remember which question ? If the question is sincere and relevance, I will definitely answer it ! You seem like you are curious to know… so please ask me again…

    peace !

Is this true? Can you prove these bold statements? Enlighten us.

  19. MishMash says:

    Pfft… Ok…

Well I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, though yours are borderline delusional.
I hope not all Javanese are as deluded and out of touch with reality as you (AAB)…. however I would think otherwise

    We are that smart.

Yeah your so smart (AAB). Look at the current sad state of your country. Its run by Javanese is it not?

Oh wait?? Its the colonialist Dutch fault isn’t it? The japanese fault? The Chinese Fault? Americas fault? The arabs fault? Daisy the goat? Haha, who are you going to point the finger at this time?

  20. DumadiSatrio says:

Pak AAB, I think you have a smart idea there.

For so long now the arabs have been working hard to convert Javanese to arab people, and their wahhabi desert influence has done much to corrupt the Kebatinan.

Java people should return the favor, and work to convert the Arabs to Javanese.
They will see it is superior and Mamayu Hayuning Bawono will spread.

  21. mike says:

Lairedion: statistics roughly show there are about a little over 30% of the world population are Christians and about 20% are Muslims. Just for these 2 already outnumber others, then add the Jewish. You can google it …

  22. mike says:

Ohhh i am sorry i forgot to include this , latest update from google:

Javanese Sontoloyo followers is estimated about 0.0000001 % of the world populations, they are AAB, diego & their recent convert “dumadisatrio”.

  23. Aluang Anak Bayang says:

    @ MishMash

The anti-Chinese riot – Who are to blame?

I would say the Dutch, the Chinese and the Javanese.

The Dutch for bringing in the Chinese who were more than willing to slave for them.

The Chinese for being hoarding as much as they can, and too tight to open up.

The Javanese for being too soft and too quick to forgive their traitors.

Why anti-Chinese sentiment runs high in Indonesia?

Javanese has a way of dealing with the Dutch invaders. We refused to slave for them and were successful in stalemating many of their projects. The Javanese has the ‘six degree of separation’ connection. When one don’t work, the rest followed. To offset this, the Dutch shipped boatload of Chinks from China who were more than willing to slave for the Dutch. Rebellious Javanese men were either killed and sent to land as far off as India. The Chinese did not murder us directly, but their action resulted in the death of hundred of thousands of Javanese.

Appreciation of friendship and brotherhood has always been Javanese’ weakest point. After our independence struggle, the purge of the chinese rats begin, but the bulk of the Chinese were saved by our guilty conscience of the less than 0.01% Babas who fought alongside our guerillas. Javanese can’t differentiate between Babas and the recent migrants, and as such allowed many to stay. The distrust existed. They can stay but not allowed to hold any governmental position. There was no restriction with their business undertakings and many makes millions due to their work ethic. Their selfish attitude of taking as much as they can and flashing their wealth created further tension and rekindled memories of betrayal during our struggle years.

Neighbouring Country A and Country B. I will just leave country labelled as A and B because of extended family connections with some royalties.

Unlike Indonesia, the Chinese in County A and B were breathed down upon. Any wealth or business success were under the watchful eyes of the ruling bumiputras. They are not granted citizenship unlike Indonesia. No Chinese in Country A and B are as filthy rich as those from Indon-Chinese. The comparison of wealth is like a drop of water in a pond. The image of Chinese towkays driving Ferraris and Lamboghini is a myth. Over 99% of the Chinese in these 2 countries are poor ar at best middle-class. Javanese do not breath down on their Indon-Chinese. We let them run wild with their business enterprise and they get citizenship. In any economic crisis, the wealthy Indon-Chinese had to be coerced by our military to give to the poor locals. It is not a tall order but nevertheless, the Indon-Chinese would not open up if not told sternly. IN HINDSIGHT, our Javanese elites should have followed Country A and B’s format of dealing with the Chinese. A poorer Chinese community will not create tension with the poor locals. Wandi, if you are reading this, take it from someone whose family was expats in these 2 countries, instead of saying their economy is batter and their bumiputras treated their Chinese population well. If you had lived there, you will come running back to Indonesia and hugged the first Javanese you see. You conveniently forget that you were educated overseas. Many Chinese in Country A and B could not afford to go overseas.

  24. mike says:

AAB: don’t be too paranoid about your writing, either way they don’t make any sense.

I already told you to be quiet but you won’t listen to me : now everyone knows that not only you’re a psycho, you’re clearly a racist !

  25. Lairedion says:

    mike,

You forgot to explain the most significant part of your statement:

All creations such as the Sun, the Moon, the Stars , the Sky, the Human body, the Laws of Physics, the Laws of Chemistry, the Plants, the Animals, etc. indicate that there is a Creator.

Is this true? Can you prove and demonstrate this?

  26. Zaky says:

Just follow your heart. Let god shows you the way.

  27. Elijah says:

Is this true? Can you prove and demonstrate this?

Is absence of God provable and demonstrable by atheists?

As Newton was investigating the universe, he became convinced that he had a solid proof of God’s existence. He wrote “Gravity may put the planets into motion, but without the divine power it could never put them into such a circulating motion as they have about the sun, and therefore, for this as well as other reasons, I am compelled to ascribe the frame of this system to an intelligent Agent.” God who had designed all this so perfectly, had to be a supremely intelligent “Mechanick” and extremely powerful to manage this huge universe.

  28. Lairedion says:

Again Elijah, can you form your own opinion in stead of quoting others? By the way, I was asking mike, not you.

  29. Aluang Anak Bayang says:

    @ Mike

I am answering pertinent questions instead of avoiding them like you have done so far. Dismissing them off as ‘insincere and irrelevance’ doen’t show you in good light. Only the stubborn and standoffish Indon-Chinese will back you up.

Most Indon-Chinese only know how to inflame the already tense situation. Both sides, the Javanese and the Indon-Chinese, are very much to blame. Acknowledging one’s past mistake is the first step toward the healing process. It is not a tall order.

  30. Elijah says:

    @ Lairedion

can you form your own opinion in stead of quoting others? By the way, I was asking mike, not you.

There cannot be two opinions about God for the believers. Newton was a firm believer of God so am I.
By the way, I was answering a question posted in a discussion forum. I didn’t violate your privacy.
