Ryan of Jombang

RyanHomosexual serial killer Ryan of Jombang, eleven victims and counting.

The news item overwhelmingly dominating television screens currently is the story of the murderer 30 year old Very/Verry/Verri Idham Henyansyah, usually called Ryan. In recent days the remains of 10 of Ryan’s murder victims have been dug up in and immediately outside Ryan’s family home in Dusun Maijo kampung, Jatiwates village, Tembelang, Jombang, East Java, and one in Jakarta. Police say there are likely still more victims to be found.

Ryan

Ryan appears to be homosexual, or perhaps bisexual, and some of his killing has been ascribed in the media to the insane jealousy that homosexuals in particular are said to suffer from. One of Ryan’s victims, Grady Adam, is said to have liked to wear boots and behaved in a “macho” way. okezone

Although Ryan has only just been arrested, there has been much speculation over what punishment is suitable for him.

Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) leader Mar’uf Amin weighed in to the debate saying that even though Ryan seemed to suffer from some sort of mental disturbance he should be sentenced to death. inilah

An official psychiatric examination of Ryan however found that he did not suffer from any mental “disease”, but suffered from a sexual disturbance (homosexuality) and had an ultra-sensitive personality. okezone

Verri Idham Henyansyah was sentenced to death for multiples murders on 6th April 2009 by a Jakarta court.

I love how the Indo press have been playing up the “handsome” girlfr- boyfriend and the fact that the English and Indonesian press couldn’t seem to agree if one of his victims was a girl or boy.

  3. Farah says:

Whether its guy, girls, gay or not, he kill people. I can’t understand how a mentally ill person could want the victims belongings and had luxury rent room in Jakarta and teach children how to read alqur’an.
He doesn’t seemed had mental problem at all….. well.. could possibly had multi personality or something..hehehehe….. maybe…

  4. Ross says:

Notice how the Jakarta Post jumped onto its pro-perv hobby-horse again, a long boring editorial column which seemed to hinge on the fact that some detective made a perfectly rational comment connecting Ryan’s perversion to his alleged crime.
The JP’s scribbler even moaned that ‘politically correct’ hasn’t caught on here – despite its hacks’ and hackettes’ best efforts, presumably?
Thank God Indonesia is free from all that decadent NY Times-style froth.

what?? homosexuality is sexual disturbance?? What kind of degree that this official psychriatic got from? From some Arab’s universities???

Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) leader Mar’uf Amin weighed in to the debate saying that even though Ryan seemed to suffer from some sort of mental disturbance he should be sentenced to death.

Yeah, sure. It is of course worst than commiting public vows that harm the minorities and causing security instabilities in Indonesia that suffering thousands and perhaps millions minorities Indonesians to death. Please stop talking MUI people!! You are a total mental disturbed organisation ever existed!

We all know from Arabs that homosexuality is a sexual disturbance and shagging a 6 year old girl is not.

In history of mankind we have seen lots of serial killers and most of them weren’t gay. So the fact that this dude is gay is irrelevant but Indonesians have always been hysterical on gender issues and sexual orientation.

  7. andrey says:

in the year 3010, the Lairedions and the Pena Budayas of the time will also find some obscure research results to justify incest as a natural phenomenon.

  8. kau dan selingkuhanmu says:

so many girls in this world, why choose to be gay ? what a sicko

  9. Lairedion says:

    andrey,

Your reaction is so typical, tarring gays with the same brush as child rapists or pedophiles.

The way I view things or how I try to live my life every day is based on whether daily acts and behaviour cause any harm to other people, animals, nature and environment.

I do not understand the psyche of gay people as I’m 100% straight and sometimes they tend to overreact and publish their gay image too much. I do not wish to see them perform open sex in public or dancing around almost naked in public on boats like it’s happening today in Amsterdam but neither do I wish to see this from straight people. However, if adult gay people are in mutual agreement to live together, involve into a relationship or have sex with each other in the private domain and do not cause other people or their environment harm who am I to object, natural phenomenon or not?

With pedophilia and incest I can safely conclude both are undesirable and immoral because it causes great harm to children, both mentally and physically, their parents and society as a whole. However there was a certain prophet who didn’t take this in consideration and shagged a little nine year old girl anyway.

This dude Ryan is just a stone-cold killer who deserved to be punished accordingly for his crimes. I don’t really care if he’s gay or not but Indonesians are so obsessed with their neighbour’s moral behaviour.

  10. Shloka says:

    andrey,

I’m left handed,is it an illness too? It was considered and still is considered so in some societies.

  11. luigi says:

Why in that case everyone is talking about the “homosexual serial killer”….in all the other many crimes committed do people ever say “the heterosexual serial killer”?
And the thing about gay people being more jealous than heterosexuals is just ridiculous, jealousy is definitely not connected to sexual orientation. Just look at all the domestic violence and all the jealousy that is involved there….
This guy is just a sick psycho and really dangerous…I am saying the whole thing because I feel that many people, especially the ones who don’t have any declared gay friends or family members, will think more negative about gay people after the whole aggressive and unfair media comments which connect homosexuality with the crimes.

  12. Rambutan says:

Sadly, this still seems to be the common opinion in Indonesia. It was a sickening experience to read the online comments in detik.com, calling gays ‘lower that animals’ carying and spreading diseases. Gays, so the common understanding, need to be deported to Pulau Buru or just shot immediately. Concerning tolerance there is still some room for improvement.

  13. perseus says:

The accused is a killer and should be treated as a killer. Someone who has killed more than 10 people meets my criteria for a death sentence. No doubt a judge will determine that in due course. His sexuality though is irrelevant. It is the murder that is wrong. The reported official view on homosexuality as a “sexual disturbance” is rather backward. Homosexuality has been documented in several species other than homo sapiens. It is a fact of nature that exists in a minority of observed specimens. However, there are plenty of moralist ignoramuses who will always seize the opportunity to beat up on gays as warped perverts who should be exterminated.

  14. Ross says:

Lairedion, it is a fact that these ‘sads’ -‘gay’ is a hideous misnomer – are more prone to molest children than normal people.

They also engage in disgusting conduct that spreads dangerous disease and then whine for public funds to treat the medical consequences of their own gross perversions.

Worse than that, in Canada and elsewhere, they are engaged in a war on free speech, to suppress both Christian and other decent folk who speak up against them.

Whether Ryan is a homicidal homo is a secondary issue, – what is more important is that people do not allow the perv lobby to hijack this issue to promote their own agenda.
Today, once more, the Jakarta Post gave huge and hugely uncritical space to a pervert, of the female variety; it is high time we had a fair newspaper for expats -the constant pinko drivel is exasperating.

  15. rima says:

typical indonesian, that andrey guy. incest is a normality in the arab world. you can marry your cousin. it’s disgusting for the rest of the world, but in the arab world and the pretend arab countries like indonesia, it is ok.

homosexuality is not a mental disorder and should never be viewed as such. ryan is a clearly disturbed young man who loves to go on a killing spree. there are plenty of disturbed people in indonesia like the fpi and many in the government. bigotry and hipocrisy is also a mental disorder in my book, but certainly not homosexuality.

my countrymen are getting more and more prone to stupidity, and it’s so sad seeing as this is 2008. i wouldve thought that in 2008 indonesia people would be more and more open minded and sensible, but instead they are moving even far backwards, into the age of the jahilliyah.

  16. Shloka says:

    @ Andrey,

In the year 1610, the men in Europe and quite a few places on Earth would cite not some obscure research but the research in the bestselling Malleus Maleficarum, aka Handbook of How to Catch and kill Witches and justify the killing of an epileptic woman.

I hope humanity reaches the year 3010, and it happens exactly as you prophesised…

  17. ceejay says:

Ryan does not merit a death sentence. I Guess he should not be sentenced to death by what ever means. He doesnt derserve it.

  18. Zecky says:

I hate to say this, but I really do fear the effects of this story on Indonesia’s already-suffering gay community.

If this were in England, where gays can have a voice, no-one would care that the killer was gay/bisexual. However, in small-minded Indonesian society (and that includes some of my own family, sadly) this kind of news just reinforces the gay stereotype of being psychos and sexual pervs who need to be stopped before they cause trouble.

  19. Purba Negoro says:

    Stop Press!

Jakarta detectives have confirmed Ryan was a regular street walker in Kemang and Jalan Bulungan in Blok M noted for their high incidence of chubby middle-age white expat residences- notably conspicuous as insular colonial plantation revival dwellings.

Police caution that whites donning their preferential tribal head-dress (baseball cap or plantation hat) are not to be approached by the Public.

Detectives have discovered certain tribal dress including the cap, the Plantation Hat, the singlet-vest and untucked loud shirt or shorty-trousers are likely code-wear worn specifically for sexual solicitation of male children and or teenage girls in restrooms.

Whites posing as “English teachers” should be avoided. Their soliciting territory has been linked to International schools.
If possible, request a copy of their often marginal qualifications and do not under any circumstances allow them to “tutor” your children.

Such “English teachers” are particularly known for the cunning “but his parents rented him to me” legal defense- which holds as much water as a Chinese jerry-can.

Appalling as it may seem, but such bias in reporting is much more prevalent in the Western media than in Indonesia’s.

For example, why did Western media outlets kept using the term “Islamic terrorists” whenever referring to any acts of terrorism committed by Muslims, but never use terms like “Catholic terrorists” when reporting terrorist acts of the IRA or “Christian Terrorists” when referring to the Klu Klux Klan or even “Communist Terrorists” when writing reports about the Shining Path of Peru, for example?

  21. Zekky says:

why did Western media outlets kept using the term “Islamic terrorists”… but never … “Catholic terrorists” when reporting … the IRA or “Christian Terrorists” when referring to the Klu Klux Klan

The IRA and KKK do terrorise in the name of Christianity but religion isn’t their only issue – there are more racial/regional elements too, than purely religious (like Muslim terrorists).
However, I agree that ‘Islamic’ terrorist is problematic in many cases, like the Aceh and Mindanao rebels, who have regional as well as religious goals.

  22. monica says:

    Ryan,

You make me sick. You murdered my best friends son. May you receive the death punishment and will you ask for forgiveness to the victims families.

Never thought anyone could be capable of doing such notrocities.

You make me sick and sakit hati sekali.

You have a brain that is not norma.

  23. Mark Anthony says:

Pena Budaya, Muhammad’s marriage to a little girl was allowed by the Creator and so was made lawful for him as was the incident where Abraham wanted to sacrifice his son. You do as your Creator says. This dude did what he did because he was sore about his sexuality and knew that it was against Islam. He probably became angry at the Lord for creating him the way he is (homosexual) and took out this frustration on those he came into contact with.

  24. Mark Anthony says:

Islam is totally against murder, so stop blaming Islam and the Muslims for being murderers. Hitler was a murderous bastard too, but u dont see the Muslims calling each and every christian a murderer because of his actions.
