Published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama and written by one Erlinawati How to Catch Mr Bule provides tips and advice for Indonesian women on how to snare a foreign man for romance and likely marriage, and how to manage the relationship.
How to Catch Mr Bule.
The book discusses important questions such as:
The weird habits of bule men are pointed out as a warning to Indonesian women, such as
These small matters could later blow up into big problems and ruin the relationship, it is said. However the main advice seems to be to avoid stereotypes and keep your eyes open.
Available at the bargain price of 25,000 rupiah.
Janma – I’ll answer your question when you confirm if your are WNI and from where.
so mbak aditya, you only want my dip if you know where I’m from? what’s up, you afraid it will be too spicy for you honeychile? Plus my avatar is there for all to see…. not many indonesians are blue eyed….. but I am WNI…. so what you want to do now?
Or is it more likely so that you’ll be able to come up with personal insults and generalizations more easily once you have a context? I can’t see what other reason you’d be so interested….. hmmmm.
Plus your remarks about bule’s being perverted…… and indonesian girls being tight….. all total bullsh*t. not all bules are big, and even if they are, it doesn’t count as an ‘unusual preference….not all indonesian women (even small ones in stature) are small down there (the vaginal opening and the elasticity of the vaginal muscles, have nothing to do with stature….proof? some very small girls, have very big mouths!) Plus, I don’t see that in any way that is a ‘perversion’ or that indonesian women leave their western partners because they are how shall we say…. “well endowed.”
so what are you really trying to say pumpkin?
Well put, Janma ! Are you really WNI ?
Patrick – deadly serious, except at weekends, when I can be a bit frivolous…
Timdog says: Does it? Always? “Our culture”? Who exactly are “We”?
If you’re an Italian Mafioso, or for that matter from an old Cornish farming family that’s not necessarily the case, not by any means…
Timdog – I was really hoping this time that you were going to tell me that you hit the bottle to hard last night at CJs or some young babe slipped you a mickey? Do you really need another lesson in logical thinking & history?
1. On the previous page I said
Romantic love was always considered important to maintaining a Happy marriage in the Judeo-Christian (note Christian here includes Catholics) tradition of Western culture.
2. Since both Italy and Great Britain share in the Judeo-Christian heritage (as all of Europe) then we can reference that point as it is truly common to all. Do you understand now why your Cornish family & Italian mafia example seems so ridiculous?
3. If you need further proof who resides in Rome – answer the Pope (who happens to be German). Catholicism is in the Judeo-Christian tradition. The majority of Italians are Catholic
4. Who is the symbolic head of the Church of England (Anglic Church) answer (Reigning English monarch). The Anglican Church is Protestant as it broke away centuries ago from the Catholic Church and it is therefore in the Judeo-Christian tradition as well. The majority of Brits are Anglican.
5. If we apply this logic to the Western world we will find that almost all countries are in the Judeo-Christian tradition and therefore the generalization holds up well don’t you think?
Are you really WNI ?
yes I am, but for all intensive purposes my incestors (thats what my daughter calls my ancestors, because my great great grandfather married his cousin…) were still convicts and thieves…. (Mbak dit should have fun with that…)
Hi patrick
Hi all !

What’s an intensive purpose? an overactive dolphin perhaps?
Well there are many Indians and arabs with Indo passports so that isn’t any surprise.
It’s got nothing to do with the size of the manuk sweetness, or for the matter anything to do with the tempik.
See little Achmad has perked up again.
Mbak adit,
If its not the size… then, what you’re talking about on your previous comments ???
do you even know what you’re saying ?…… or just write first and think later ? hehehehe

@ mbak adit
At least i read the book now.
Some people just too ignorant, and shallow minded, and too lazy to read books, or other people comments in here.

and previously you said…..
You don’t know? The i’m not going to tell you, suffice to say that when you walk looking like you have just got off a horse and can’t look at a ketimun without having a twinge then you will get some idea what I mean.
is this another plin-plan or twisted mind of yours … AGAIN ???
Btw,
Yeah i am agree with indian and arabic things u said.
I am not indian, i am not arabic, and i am tall. Genes, sports and good nutritious food, sure. But my parents are indonesian, not arabic or indians… or chinese !!! hahaha !! (this still made me laugh).
Don’t have to be one of them (indian, arabic, or chinese???) to be taller than average girls in Indonesia.
Hope this will OPEN your mind.. some how.

Hehehe… just the typical response from a …. hahaha! to rude to tell tho… hehehe
Farah I am in complete awe of you as you take no prisoners! You rock baby!
Patrick, I am not being deliberately obtuse – I genuinely don’t understand what you are saying – your apparently explanatory post above only muddies the water still further…
Do you understand now why your Cornish family & Italian mafia example seems so ridiculous?
No!!! I don’t! PLease explain! All I know is that I know a couple of people, outsiders who had the misfortune to marry into old-established Cornish farming families who had the misfortune to be unaware of what that would entail – the family and the community are even now key for those kind of people, and an “up-country” spouse is always going to take second place… both marriages failed…
Arranged marriage was very much norm for the European aristocracy until only a generation ago…
And what’s all the stuff about religion? “Cultures” of all kinds are founded on far more than the scriptural tenets of a particular faith – and that goes for their attitude to “love and marriage” as much as anything… There is a vast, vast difference between the “Catholic culture” of Spain and that of Ireland for example… that’s why I struggle a little with your talk of “our culture”…
In any case, what about Indonesian Christians? How about their attitude to marriage? Are they different from the other “Indonesian women”? A little clarity please….
@Farah and MbakAditya
I’m still waiting for that mud wrestling match.
Maybe janma can also join in as a referee.

Timdog it is Friday morning here in beautiful Palm Beach County, Florida and I was hoping (apparently against all odds) that you could reason things out for yourself? You know when I lived in Jakarta I kept a crucifix at the entrance way inside my apartment. I did it to remind myself who I was and where I came from and what I believe. I am not alone to do this as many types of Christians and from many different backgrounds do this all over the world. We do it for the same reason to remind ourselves that God so loved the world that He allowed His only Son to be sacrificed for us so that we could be free from the stain of sin and that we could enjoy an eternal life in heaven. All Christians (includes Catholics) believe this as it is a common denominator in our faith whether we be Protestant or Catholic and no matter where in the world we practice our faith. Through scripture we know what is expected of us in holy matrimony (I have already several times made mention of this in earlier comments). The Church played an enormous role in the development of Europe (and subsequently the Americas) and one only has to open a few history books to realize the extent of that influence on almost everything. Some examples would include government, laws, education, Feast Days, literature, Weddings etc. This is what is meant by Judeo-Christian culture. It does not mean we are all absolutely the same in all details (see Paul’s writings) and there are not enormous differences from country to country but rather that we share the core values of Christian influence. It does not matter how we came to be married as much as how we acted in our marriage. If we placed local culture above the word of God then who bears the blame if marriages fail? A Catholic from Ireland and a Catholic from Spain know exactly what to expect in a marriage based on their common faith and scripture and even if they did not share a common language. I am proof of this as I am a descendant of the survivors of the Spanish Armada that lived through a fierce storm at sea and later shipwrecked on the Western coast of Ireland. Despite language and cultural differences that were able to assimilate with the local people and inter-marry because of their common faith (and ok maybe common hatred on the British…ha ha ha) Today, with our darker features and black hair we are called “the black Irish”.
Interestingly enough there are “Black Cornish” too – some of them are very “black” indeed… the traditional folklore explains that these were, rather than the descendents of shipwrecked Spanish, the product of the handful of documented attacks on Cornish coastal villages in the period of the Spanish Armada when Spanish sailors did a fair about of “raping and pillaging” (and burnt my hometown to the ground – not that I hold that against them!)
I’ve always though it highly dubious that these few attacks and the rapes that took place could have founded an entire “race” still visible today; it seems more likely that there was many centuries of trade across the Bay of Biscay, and more than a few Spanish-Kernowek marriages…
There is also the little known issue of the long period of raids on the Cornish coast by Arab pirates from North Africa who kidnapped villagers as slaves and soldiers for the Moroccan courts, and doubtless did a fair bit of raping and pillaging… there are a number of accounts of freed Cornishmen returning to their homeland after years in Morocco – sometimes with Arab wives and children… Seems like that period of history may lie behind the “Black Cornish”… I wouldn’t be surprised if the same applies to Ireland…
And with that little detour into historical trivia I find that all desire to argue with you about the institution of marriage and “Western” and “Indonesian” attitudes towards it has mysteriously vanished! 😉

Timdog here is a great song about the beauty of a black-Irish woman
Steve Earle, The Galway Girl Lyrics
Artist: Earle Steve
Song: The Galway Girl
Album: Transcendental Blues
Steve Earle Sheet Music
Steve Earle CDs
Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
I met a little girl and we stopped to talk
Of a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what’s a fella to do
‘Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
And I knew right then I’d be takin’ a whirl
‘Round the Salthill Prom with a Galway girl
We were halfway there when the rain came down
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
And she asked me up to her flat downtown
Of a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what’s a fella to do
‘Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
So I took her hand and I gave her a twirl
And I lost my heart to a Galway girl
When I woke up I was all alone
With a broken heart and a ticket home
And I ask you now, tell me what would you do
If her hair was black and her eyes were blue
I’ve traveled around I’ve been all over this world
Boys I ain’t never seen nothin’ like a Galway girl
@ Patrick
hehehe… i am a quite tolerable person, but dislike harsh and shallow minded people.. especially the one that look down someone because their ethnics, or the outlooks.
@ Dewa
… you like being dirty too aren’t you ? why don’t you join me hehehe
I wouldn’t be surprised if the same applies to Ireland…
Precisely the same phenomena exists along the west coast of Ireland where you typically see many almost Spanish looking people. They too have the same myths that they’re all descended from shipwrecked Armada crew but I simply think it relates more to the Celtic origins of the people who are supposed to have come from the Middle East.

..hohohoho….”might”.. okay…its just might people…
What’s an intensive purpose? an overactive dolphin perhaps?
now now sweetie…. leave the dolphins out of it… they’ve got enough trouble with japanese men!
Ha! that reminds me of something funny I saw the other day… a balinese tour guide was at the airport to pick up his japanese tourists that were arriving and he had a tee shirt on that had a cute little graphic of a whale on it and underneath were written the words;
Save the Whale, Kill a Jap.

Your place or mine?
Patrick – peace indeed! Nothing douses my flames like a tangent into socio-historic annecdote territory…
Always been a big fan of Steve Earle myself, and Galway Girl is my favourite of all his more recent stuff (though it’s not quite up there with some of the stuff on Copperhead Row)…
Actually, though I was born and raised in Cornwall, my family on both sides are from Irish roots, and my name is about as Irish as you get… In the case of me, my brother, my mother and my grandmother – our hair is black and our eyes are blue… (though we don’t have the dark skin of the “black Cornish”)…
Peace… 🙂
