In early June 2007 a housekeeper in Medan, called Risma, who comes from Palembang, reported her boss Andi (50) to the police for forcing her to eat some pork meat.
The case excited some passions in Medan, easily understandable for those who have noticed the visceral disgust and loathing that many Muslims have whenever pork appears in view, or when the subject of pork eating or even touching of pork comes up. Abdullah Syah of Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), for example, said anyone who forced a Muslim to eat pork was committing an insult to the whole Muslim community and he hoped that Andi would be given a suitably severe punishment. republika
Meanwhile, in early August 2007, further south in Risma’s home town of Palembang, South Sumatra province, an unrelated incident involving accusations that a producer of bakso, meatball soup, fills his meatballs with pork instead of beef, and then sells them to unsuspecting people.

An unnamed man reported Saparuddin bin Ramlan (48) to the police and claimed that Saparuddin was motivated by profit:
He makes more money that way.
Saparuddin bin Ramlan, who is from Kediri, East Java, supplies bakso to five mobile sellers and admits to having used pork in his product for two years, and buys eight kilograms of pork to last for three days production. Pork costs 20,000 rupiah per kilogram, he says, while beef costs 50,000.
Police arrested Saparuddin and two of his sellers on 10th August, and confiscated four kilograms of pork, and hundreds of bakso “balls”. okezone

Islamic civilization should better wake up and use the wealth from their soil to develop their minds instead of nitpicking koranic verses, sticking their arses up in the air five times a day and stay dumb. -
Maybe a studi banding should be made on the eating of porc and development of human brain cells.

Muslim don’t curse anyone who consume pork. We just let you know that it is forbidden by your Maker. If you are still stubborn, then your blood is halal. Straightforward and simple.

As far as I know, my “maker” isn’t Allah and she/he doesn’t forbid me to eat pork. And whether we eat pork or not, our blood is anyway halal for the moslems. So why shouldn’t we eat pork or frogs or even human flesh?

What a day dream. How can someone talk about moslem glory?
There is hardly any independent moslem country in the world.
All Middle East countries, perhaps except for Iran are under western armpit. In fact, those countries were founded by British and US after WW II. Those royal families in fact are the puppets, all moslem know that incl bin Laden.
So if moslem want to have a better dignity, better not to think like in 7th century. Work hard and learn the secret from other civilizations.Aluang, you’re very angry, he he. Then it means you are lost, your heart is speaking.
Also, my creator is not allah, the moon god. But the GOD, REAL GOD. If moslem want to worship allah, fine. Its their right. And I never think about killing moslem since my creator teach me to love and compassion. -

The issue about the pork is very clear in Islam (as it is in early Christianity), we do not sell our religion and soul for a miserable wordly price.
The harm that pork possesses is very clear for any discerning reader to see and many medical journals have been written on it’s harms. Indeed even a basic google search will throw up vast majority opinion that pork is not suitable for the human body (and the reasons given are just as factually valid).

Aluang, the only problem of your thesis is that many of us non-moslems feel well in our skin, sin or not sin.
And for me has my maker, my father, has said one sentence, which you all (moslem or not) should internalize:
“My son, be a good human being.”

And I’m a good human being. Eating pork or not, praying or not, able to speak Arabian language or not. Able to pray in latin language or not. And I know, that I will come to heaven. But I don’t want!! 🙂

When there is a local govt legalized gay, does it mean all western civ agree on it? When several priest commit sexual sins, does it mean also for thousands of them?
Same as, do all moslem support terrorist like Osama? Do all moslem are terrorist?
Generalization is a character of a low educated person.Also, islamic golden age is only history, unrepeat. It won’t happen again unless radical moslem is eliminated.
However, I wonder what kind of sharia is strongly applied during that period? Belly dancing were popular at that time. -

Just remember though, if you like it, it doesn’t mean that others would like it too. So be respectful.
If you don’t like it, don’t force other people to hate it either. So be open minded.Everything is relative. Like some opinions above mentioned, not eating pork does not make one a better Muslim (or person), and that every culture has their own food taboo.
God is way too big to meddle in this minutiae matter of who’s eating pork, who’s not. if he does, that beats the purpose of him creating each human being with brain pre-installed in the first place.
Meh! Eat whatever. You like you eat. You no like, you no eat, lah! You yourself is responsible.

My analysis is that the reason why Islam banned Pork is because of “trade”. Yes in the old days the Chinnese exported a lot of Pork meats to the Arab World in the Silkroad trade era. With the leakages of money going to the Chinnese the Arab without no doubt invalidated pork so that they can still benefit their domestic Lamb meats and so on. Rational approach can sometimes explain things here. :D, Pork does not contain any poison really. Using religion to influence people not to eat pork for the benefit of their economy is genious I must say, however I believe it’s too ancient in the modern days.

Muslims are not told why pork is forbidden. Other forbidden things to eat for Muslims are blood and carrion. So eating rare meat is not allowed.
Also food which was offered to deities and other god are not allowed to be eaten.

Aluang, what is natives and what is Muslim actually? Do you really understand what you said? The native cultures in Egypt – for example – have all of them almost vanished due to Islamization. It is a fact that actually religions around the world have contributed to the vanishing of the origins.

Even Hajj is also motivated by money. One of the condition that royal family in Mecca wanted to be moslem was the previelege of collecting money from hajj.
Also, one of the biggest corruption in indo is in dept agama from hajj money. What a pathethic! -
