Bashir Visit

Mujahidin Council (MMI) leader Abu Bakar Ba’asyir, with a number of other clerics in tow, arrived unannounced at the State Palace on the 22nd to hand over a letter of advice to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The letter contained an appeal to the president that all government policy should be based on Islamic shariah law.
Just turned up.
Ba’asyir and friends waited for 45 minutes at the palace gates until they received permission from presidential guards to enter. Upon entering they were received by presidential spokesman Andi Mallarangeng, who said his boss was too busy to meet Bashir, and that people had to make appointments if they wanted to meet the leader. kompas

The letter, which has been signed by 20 senior clerics, consists of a warning to the president and contains these words: antara
Since the time of Soekarno Islamic law has been ignored, to the point where the people are suffering. The disasters which have happened are because we do not respect the law of God.

ABB should have gone to USA to see Bush and offer his advice as well where in the end he will end up in Guantanamo bay. We will see the difference of laws used in both countries.

Definitely, we must arrest people based on what foreign intelligence agencies say. The same intelligence agencies that said WMD’s exists in Iraq and ready to launch within 24 hours 😉
Or perhaps we must trust the western medias in this ABB case, the same medias who supported the Iraq invasion.
My point is, don’t trust what you read in the western papers too much. No one can dominate what the truth means or what the facts are. Indonesian ‘truth’ said he’s innocent (except for immigrations infringement), and Indonesian ‘facts’ suggested there’s no relationship between the old man with JI. But western ‘truth’ and ‘facts’ insisted on his guilt. He must be guilty, isn’t he? And we must trust the medias that said he is, don’t we?

You think that’s not true! The reports from foreign media! CIA1. How do you comment on OBL. That frail looking senile son of a bitch that killed many innocent and cause nillions of people to live in hardship in Pakistan, Afghanistan etc, etc.

Don’t you think so? He is the worst culprit of all throwing stones with hands behind his back. If he is supporting this, promoting that to the Indonesian, how come we did not heard of him during the Orde Baru Era? These are people who lynch of the weak and uneducated. He had every fingers pointed to his direction when all those incidents hapenned. Is he less guilty?
If a person who cannot differentiate between promoting religion and promoting terror then he should not speak of religion at all. Because it makes the person so gullible and unfit.
No one religion mixes religions and terror or politic into one topic. Whether they ar JI, NII, or whatever the sh*t is it is just plain bullsh*t. A good Muslim will not always bring terror subject or be politically motivated.
Indonesia needs to solve their own problem internally. When comments or criticism are made , they are meant to highlight certain topic for introspection.
Many seems to be making defensive comments by forsaking the goodwill. That is Indonesi’a failure.
The Indonesian government had put up many projects and seeking foreign funds. Where are the Muslim Funds and Arab cronies? How many are stretching their lending hands to help Indonesia.
You will see for yourself, unless Indonesia is willing to make good herself, she will never get the necessary aid. Even if the Asian Development Bank is willing there will still be certain restrictions.
How much of those money will continue to flow into the pockets? How many projects will become realistic. These projects are being put up for tender as a front. It is not going to benefit the Indonesian as a whole. You know the drill.
