Danish Consulate Bali

Feb 14th, 2006, in News, by

While Denmark has pulled the plug on it’s Java diplomatic missions and told its citizens to leave, their Bali consulate is still open for business, says Media Indonesia (Indonesian).

According to the person who answered the phone at the consulate things are quiet but the consulate is operating as per normal. She said there are eleven security guards on duty and, since the cartoon furore, a few policemen have been stationed outside. The consul, Loana Kanginadi, still comes into work as usual.

A few leaders of Muslim student groups had come to voice their shock and horror about the cartoons but there had been no actual demonstrations or any sort of ugliness.
