Central Java intends to introduce a law governing the collection of zakat.
The collection of zakat, the charity tax for Muslims, will be regulated by the regional parliament of Central Java, says M. Iqbal Wibisono, the chairman of the Commission for People’s Prosperity in the DPRD. tempo
This is to make more efficient the collection of zakat from the Muslim community in Central Java.
(Ini untuk mengoptimalkan pengumpulan zakat dari umat Islam di Jawa Tengah.)
Iqbal says by making a law on the matter the collection of zakat will be carried out more efficiently and more transparently. Two new bodies will need to be formed, one for collecting the money and one for observation. The current practises of social organisations like Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah will have to be coordinated with the government.
Tom, not much. The method is one for me, one for me, one for me, one for you. 🙂
Can’t sleep thinking about zakat, Ihaknt????
:()
Count the sheep, no, the Rupiahs: one fro me, one for me, one for you … no still for me, one for me, one for me …..
Sleep well.
The badan amil zakat must recruit the good person who dedicated his work only for Allah. They must have good morality. And yes, people with that quality are rare.
Because they know, corrupting zakat is corrupting theirself right to hell. But if they work with real deeds, it’s an investement right to heaven.

Ihaknt:
I hate that reality because sometimes its true. I saw Hidayah, theyll then get their punishment from Allah.
In my village, there always a printed report how actually their sedeqah, infaq, zakat go to.
But is the report legit tho? If it is then it is great, at least someone is doing the right thing.
Tom, no it’s not I could not sleep. But i do ask the same question myself. but again, one for me, one for me, one for me…you? You get nothing, one for me, one for me. hehehehe 😀
1ndra and Ihaknt, let’s hope that the deservings become their right completely.
That’s why I visit Indonesia at least once a year (beside visiting my old mother and my relatives off course), I give my small donation preferably direct to people who need help. And I know many of them personally.
Can’t you just do it from the heart? Why do you need a regulation?
Ihaknt:
Yes, it is. Complete enough but with some donaturs respect (anonymously) and so much enough that made me sleep early after delivering to each donaturs 😀
Tomaculum:
Good for you, may your donation lift their life up. They need people like you.
What sometimes pisses me off is the fact that many people pay zakat just so their name can be included in such list. You know, nyombong, for pride. Maybe not so much for zakat, i should say for charity. Anyway, good on you if you volunteer to help. I hope your good deed gets recognised and paid back 100 times more…dont forget bagi bagi :)…one for me, one for me, one for me, ok ok one for you too 😀
Hi all,
Just wondering, why zakat needs to be regulated? Shouldn’t zakat be voluntary and free from duress?
Regulated Zakat, I though we have this one already, although I think it is called Tax.
Iqbal says by making a law on the matter the collection of zakat will be carried out more efficiently and more transparently. Two new bodies will need to be formed, one for collecting the money and one for observation.
Efficient and transparent my a$$ — they’re just trying to find another outlet to practice corruption.

And off course 10% (to 50%) of the amount will be encashed for administration fees. And the employees of those two new bodies need to be paid too. So, think yourself, how much of the money will at last reach the real deserving.
