Cheers mate!

Hello Rara

It's been quite a while since the last time I checked your forum Laugh

I think you now got the point about us Laugh

we do tolerate … but as normal human being, we do expect the same degree to tolerance from you

if you want to live with us … learn to leave us be, and we'll leave you be Laugh

I do not blame Diego and others … as honestly I think some of your questions are directed to "what it takes for a westerners to convert" and that's the first impression I got from you, though I tried to answer without thinking of it

it's enough to fill a normal people with prejudice, you know

and I am sure many share the same thoughts as I doLaugh

cheers Laugh

Donny,

Yes thank you for your summary . Yes I already know your answers and already took a note back then and thought would discontinue with your post :D

until you asked me whether I would convert and such. Im sure you remember when you asked this question. (post on 9:12 -Nov 18)
You asked -  I answered and that happens all the way around.

Im just collecting perspective not trying to convert anyone. None of my writings contained as if I wanted to do some holy mission :D – Not in my interest. ;)

"what it takes for a westerners to convert" Impression

I never inclined my posts to be  like What does it take a bule or whatever non muslim to convert, NO not at all nor do I see any of my writings lead to that either. I just wanted to know how many would say YES and how many would say NAY.

I have my assignment for college in East meet West culture essay and relationship inevitably  is one of the matters. Im answering questions after questions here, I gave my reasonings when I was aksed to explain.

And I thank you for your opinion ;)

And Diego,

I was nice to you until you post this:

PS: I heard there are a lot of muslim males in arab. But be careful, some of them probably have this jew blood running in their vein. Shudder. Imagine having a baby from one of them, and you wake up in the morning seeing the blood of your baby spilled over the bed (he ate it)…, oh and a pair of eyeballs (he didn't touch them, taste like shit). Gross.

You started it, it didnt sound intellegent nor healthy at all did it ?  Dont blame me! Cool

still … you have to consider that we have our own prejudice … and if you want to know us better, that should also be your consideration on how you should ask …

perhaps you should mention earlier that this is your assignment and you have nothing to do with religion …

so we may know from the very beginning what this is all about, and will happily answer for you

don't you get it ? no wonder some said that you're trying to score Laugh

sometimes our mind did not tick like yours … Laugh

After having lived in Indonesia for 19 years, I can only say that most girls who wear headscarves are normal people with a funny looking hat! In fact, due to their feeling of being repressed, most of them are WILD!

I see there is talk in Australia to ban the burqa in public, I agree with this as I believe wearing religious coverings because of ones sex is wrong and backward.

Tony Wheeler from Lonely Planet once asked when in Saudi Arabia, "Why do women wear black and men wear white"?  The reply he got was "Men had first choice and you would be crazy to wear black in this heat".

Everytime I see a women in muslim head dress I always feel sad for her.  Lots of women say they choose to wear it but I really feel a majority are forced to, they just like to have an excuse.

Aboslutely right. All the more here, because Indonesian women are almost all beautiful, to varying degrees. It is sad to see them shrouding themselves in a symbol of subjugation.

I certainly don't view girls with hijab differently than I view anyone else…I have several Muslim friends who wear it. However, when I see a girl with hijab, I always hope that she is wearing it because it is her choice…not because of family, government, or cultural demands.

I cannot imagine a girl wearing one as a personal choice, such a sexist object and image.
