I re-read few post in here about dating indonesian girl. Also in some comment.. i read things like in Bali woman use black magic to tie their expat husband.
Does white guys really believe in to this evil voodoo thing ?
Do they think thats working.. (somehow ?)
..or its just something to blame to cover their need of the woman it self ? ("…the potion made me can't leave her somehow always remember her.." ????).
I thought western people not into this things …eh??

I think we Bule enjoy this kind of jungly story… anything about love potions, jamu, Madurese you-know-what… but when it comes to actual serious *belief* in dukuns, etc… that's more you guys.
We may not be into it, but we certainly *are* into superstitious jungle girls… after all a certain amount of credulity in a female is a useful thing :D

I think the potion thingy is a myth. How can someone make you fall in love unless you let yourself. That's just my two cents

in our culture, (asian/islamic) we have always believed in the idea of black magic. saying that it's always generally used for ill, and causing harm to people, not really for romantic purposes. does anyone know if it ever worked ? it might have come in use sometime !!
i'm not sure that it would work on westerners who did not believe in the stories, there has to be a common understanding before that can happen

I don't know about Indonesian women and love potion or magic. But I read something about 'nasi kangkang' which creeped me out to no end.

A woman squat without panties over steamed rice and let the condensed fluid (mixed with her own) from the thigh area drip back to the rice. Then they serve it to their husband/boyfriend/family/employer. Apparently it has some supernatural power and the people they serve the rice to will be under their spell.
Gross, I know.
