It is a sad phenomenon, Patung . Here in Bandung where I live there are also more and more of them begging money at cross junctions. I know I wasn't supposed to laugh at other people's misfortune, but still can't resist myself to smile seeing how they put the horrifying make up on their face…making me wonder somehow, are they really waria or it is just their job?

Yes, it depends on the perspective of how you look at it….. I find myself smile and entertained a lot seeing their energetic performance, very expressive. But the growing number of them is a matter of concern, I mean, they are young, strong, healthy, supposed to live their life in a more productive ways…
