The girls that were arrested new years eve for dancing too sexy for the taste of Bandung's Mayor in a discotheque, raided by this same mayor with the police (without the FPI though he brought them when he raided another place a few months back) were sentenced to two and a half year in jail. So were the manager of the discotheque and the event organizer…
This is Bad with a capital B, who knows what will be next, anything goes with these psycho's…
The same mayor accidently who became very, very enthusiastic during a radio interview about the worsening traffic jams in Bandung. This is great, he said, we're making 7 billion every weekend from all the Jakartans coming to Bandung. Personally I would love to know who is making this 7 billion and what it is used for. Certainly not for maintaining the roads, go to Simpan in Dago, a pretty busy and important road, it looks like some of the worst parts of war-time Kabul. Important busy roads like St. Budi and Jl. Pasteur have big gaping holes in them. Accidents are happening people are getting maimed and people are dying in horrific traffic accidents because of this…

Wow and I used to think Bandung was worth visiting, what an repungant turn of events. If people get the kind of democracy they deserve then Bandung must be hanging its head in shame.

Their sentence was 2.5 months, not years, at least according to jakartaglobe. But still interesting priorities they've got in Bandung…

there you go. 2,5 months, glad i misread that 2,5 years would've been terrible, does that mean they're free to go? they've been inside since new years eve…..

a fine, maybe. even that i don't agree with, but any jail sentence is absurd.

Did they have to dance before the judge as proof of their misdemeanour? I wouldn't be surprised.

Simpang Dago used to be my favourite place for its delicious bubur ayam and batagor. But now the traffic jam, especially during the weekend, is unbearable with more and more cars with letter B around.
This is great, he said, we're making 7 billion every weekend from all the Jakartans coming to Bandung. Personally I would love to know who is making this 7 billion and what it is used for.
I had a premonition that the development of Kabupaten Bandung Barat would be responsible for it. New office building, new officers, new legislative members (with hardly any contribution to the infrastructures development on the area and income improvement for the people)…. where does the money to pay their salary and bonus come from?
