Due to legal threats from Netherlands International School Jakarta I've had to remove the posts in this thread – my advice on Netherlands International School Jakarta – avoid them.

For the record, somebody called jo2jakarta complained about the principal and of her child's treatment at the school, then somebody called Hendriks rebutted her, then somebody who I'm assuming was the principal herself came and created two accounts on the site and posted under two names to rebut, then she and jo2jakarta got into a catfight, then somebody called Erik ten Have started making legal threats to me via PM and trying to contact me via whois info.

Dear Patung,

Thank you so much for this reaction.

First my apologies, i didn't mean to let it escalate into a catfight and have you bothered by these people with threats.

For me this latest action is stunning, overwhelming and clear proof that we are right! And whatever happened with freedom of speech?

Thank you for publishing my posts!

And thank you for setting up this forum. It's a treasure trove of info, keep up the good work!

I have never tried to contact Patung or anyone from this site, I don't know what "whois info" is. All I did was reply to the posts made. I have never made any legal threats to anyone. If no false accusations have been made, there can be nothing to fear from legal action.

Just one last reaction on Hendriks.

If there is nothing to fear from legal action, maybe you can explain this to me.

Why was the headhoncho of the NIS schoolboard so eager to meet me (in a coffeeshop in Kemang) after I mentioned Id go either to a newspaper or lawyer because of my banishment? Neither principal or board responded properly to me about educational concerns. Ever.

And why is this forum forced to remove the posts about NIS?

I am willing to publish all my correspondence with these NIS people if I need to. I have nothing to hide.

Truth shall prevail.

Well I've never met the headhoncho of the board so I don't know if it was the way you assert or not, however I know that the appropriate place to deal with complaints about a principal is the school board, because they have all the relevant information and they are the final authority. If you don't agree with the board then you leave, you should not make public accusations, especially the kind of gossipy and slanderous personal ones that you made. From what I've heard and in my personal experience with the school, what you said is simply not true, but in any case, the appropriate place to deal with accusations of libel and the place to judge the truth would be a court of law, again not a public forum, so I think the site was correct to take down the posts. However Patung does not sound like an objective moderator, advisiing his or her readers to avoid a school based on one member's post and then falsely saying that I tried to contact him or her and threaten legal action which I absolutely did not. And what evidence do either of you have to assert that the other respondant(s) were in fact the principal? What evidence other than your guess? What else are you "guessing" in all of this? And then for Patung to accuse her and you of the very sexist term "catfight"? I think you both need to be more careful about what you post about other people when you name them and put their photos up. Hopefully you can finally let it go and let the principal get on with the job of making an already great and growing school even better.

One think I can assure you is that I am not the principal of NIS.

I have decided not to comment anymore because a fire can not burn if you don't put fuel on it and that seems to be what jo2jakarta wants. Just like my ex wife don't give her anything to bitch about.

Dear jdi,

I would wholeheartedly agree with you if I were the one who started the fire. I have done my best to communicate with management of the school, according to the procedures in the schoolguide.

However, the management has apparenty lost its ability to communicate in a civilised manner, or perhaps has never been able to communicate, since they have made themselves if not invisible then at least unapproachable.

Again I want to emphasize that my (and other parents') problems are with the board, not the teachers.

Also I want to emphasize that the great teacher team to which was referred in previous posts was already in place and functioning very well, BEFORE mrs K.P. came aboard.

And Hendriks, how did we gues one of you may be the principle, or close to her? Maybe you should better be careful what terminology you use when you react. Only the principal or someone close to her would use those kinds of words and refer to ancient Aussie politics Wink It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

Oh and by the way: if anyone has the brilliant idea to send complaints to the Dutch inspection of education, or SNOB, the organisation for Dutch schools abroad? Don't even bother. According to new regulations, Dutch schools abroad have the autonomy to figure out by themselves how they interpret their quality of their school's education. It's nice the organisations are there, but they have no power. Maybe if there would be a mass protest of parents they would send a polite request to the school if they want to look into it, but since the school is so small and because of the divide and rule policies of the management, this is not going to happen. So if you read in the schoolguide it's accredited and controlled by SNOB and Dutch inspection? Better laugh about it because otherwise you might end up crying about the sad reality.

This is very interesting stuff! I'm already tinkering with ideas for my next novel, so perhaps a thoroughly mythological international school might be a fine setting.

All rumours, scandals, shock-horror-shame stories most welcome.
