everyone, I am in Perth, Western Australia and have been talking to many younger people from Indonesia on Facebook. It is great but I need to talk to some people more my own age as a lot of people including my own family think I am going to run off and get an Indonesian bride. That in itself is not a real problem except that I am already married! They also are suspicious of me talking to so many young girls and others, a lot from Universities in Indonesia but it is in fact them who have contacted me on FB. I think westerners do not seem to undertand the way Indonesians respect people older than themselves. Wish it happened more here. Anyway, I was supposed to visit Indonesia to meet many of these wonderful people last August but my wife was diagnosed with cancer which we are currently battling with so had to cancel the trip.
So, I hope to visit in mid 2010 and to complement this I am studying bahasa Indonesia at night school (TAFE). I am new to this site so look forward to meeting and talking to some orang Indonesia and others more my age (51) and enjoy some time with them and learn from some of your experiences.

Hello to everybody on the forum. My name is Jon. I live in the United Kingdom. I am visiting Indonesia at the end of this month. I am going to be finishing off my TEFL course whilst I am there. I was wondering whats the cheapest place to live and also the easiest place to get out of the country and renew my visa every 30 days? I will be spending 3 months in Indonesia, 1 month or so to finish TEFL course and the other 2 months to find a job? I know the price of housing in Jakarta but how does it compare to rest of Indonesia? Hi all, I am enjoying seeing the comments here and so looking forward to visiting Indonesia next year if I can. I just finished my first level of bahasa Indonesia di sekolah malam! haha
We have dinner last week at a great Indonesia (Balinese) restaurant in Myaree (a suburb of Perth), Itu enak sekali!! This is the website if anyone is interested. Well worth a look. Our guru, ibu Ana took us there for our last lesson. She is from danau Tabo in Sumatera and is such a beautiful lady, no wonder people fall in love with Indonesian women!
