When a child being abused by their parents physically or mentally, do you think that it will create a trauma on this child especially when the child grown up? Do you think we can heal this trauma, and how?

Abused children would most likely suffer trauma and repeat the same abuse to their own children once they become parents. I'm not sure how to heal the trauma, however I would imagine communication is a good place to start.

Play therapy often works wonders. Also the abuse must stop and the children must learn the difference between love and abuse and how to separate the two or that the two should never be confused.

Hi,
I would suggest that children should be well behaved and well manner and it is the responsiblity of the parient to teach them all.

Indonesia has more Children in Care than anywhere else in the world – so Child abuse is common in Indonesia and since having more than two parents is a problem for any child… with polygomy so widely practiced especially in Java there needs to be more organised help for children.
Children in Indonesia also suffer from having parents who often have Children before getting married and will also be a key focus of their lives but often without a proper means to support all these children.
Yet little in reality is being done since Indonesian women are often selfish and childish in their characters and so only think of themselves instead of thinking about making a good home in order to care for a child in the first place!
So Child Abuse will only ever be reduced when indo Women start to take control of the situation instead of thinking of their own wants and desires all the time!

I worked in Child Protection in Australia for 20 years.
There is no doubt that abuse can severly harm children and have traumatic effect in later life. I agree that people who are abused as children have a greater chance of becoming abusers themselves.
The most important message to children is that it is not their faullt, many think they are abused because of something they have done.
dyakuture bwa…I am interested in your comment that Indonesia has more children in care than anywhere else in the world. Is this really true? Are they in care if organisations, or informal care? Have they been removed because of abuse?
I'd like to know more about your system (though I'm not in Child Protection any more), just curious.

There are numerous cases of child abuse in Indonesia, sadly most of them are not being reported to the authority. And perhaps the authority do not take any action at all if there was any being reported. I've seen some kids being abused in an orphanage , and nobody talk about it. I hope the government will take an initiative to improve the system in handling and proctecting those little ones.
