I'm a white English chap (and a Muslim) so I'm a bule (Bule gila Grin) but, unless you are white, you don't qualify for the title.

Just asked my brother in law who says that Mr Polas from Bangladesh who lives here isn't a bule.

Sorry mate. Looks like you are stuffed for being a bule but I suspect, if you popped over here, you would get the same warm welcome I get.

There may be racism in some ways here but it's not the same concept as that idiot Adolf Griffin and his white supremasist rubbish.

I really love living here and the people are great.

Bule just means stranger,( anyone not from indoneisa). Just dont say your from america and you'll be just fine.

Having olive skin will not help you, Indonesians have a very way of life. if you want to fit in and not be standing out, You should forget everything you ever knew to be true and learn thier way of life.

They hate anyone that comes and shows off their money and speaks english the whole time.

Learn the local lanuage not just bahasa indo!!

Indonesia is the best place in the world, but just like anyother countrie you should try as hard as you can not to look American.Thumbs Up

Uhm…, so you would rather listen to Cinta Laura (she speak neither 100% english or 100% indonesian whenever she tries to utter sequence of things that vaguely resembles a sentence)?

Or… that girl Manohara Pinoy? Same thing like Cinta Laura.

no one likes cinta laura. the only reason she is on tv so much is because we are all making fun of her (she is half german, not english!!) she is only embarrising herself. we are laughing "at her" not with her!!

what i was trying to say was if you want to fit in you need to try and learn the languge. Like do go bring'in big headed and stiffneckness to the kumpung, they will put you on the next anggkot outter there.

We are proberly not all silly white buggers but ive seen alot of stupied white people do dumb things in indo.

Respect can go along way…. just wish people would show repect when they come to australia!!Thumbs Up

Uhhhm, is there any other sort of "english chap"? there may be plenty of non white britishers, but english, that's a different bowl of indomie.

I can assure you that non whites can get the honourary title of "bule", and that in the vast majority of cases, being called a bule is not something overly polite – after you've settled in and speak nice BI and a good smattering of whatever the local language may be – then you'll never hear yourself refered t that that manner, if you do, you are doing something wrong, or the guy that said it wants a punch up the bracket.
