TVS Motor Company of India sees Indonesia as the base for its operations in South East Asia.

TVS Motor Company, a producer of motorcycles, last year decided to invest $43 million to build a factory in Karawang, West Java. The production line for the factory will shortly come on line. The President Director of TVS Motor, B.L.P Simha, was optimistic that the motor cycle market in Indonesia was promising and said that the company, which is part of the $2.2 billion TVS group in Chennai, India, had set a sales target of 300,000 units per year.

Simha went on to say that he was not afraid of going up against the established, Japanese, manufacturers of motorbikes in Indonesia, such as Honda. Such competition only caused his company to increase its quality, he said. He also held out the possibility that TVS would further increase its investment in Indonesia if market conditions were conducive.

I graduate from ATMI Solo and I think this is a great improvement that TVS Motor Company produces their product in Indonesia and ready to “fight” with other competitors which already become a great company in Indonesia.

So I would like to join this company if “possible” and there are any vacancy in your company. Thank you…

Indonesia has a bold potential for a lot of things. ATMI is doing a great job but not very well publilcised in Jakarta.
We are an Australian Indonesian Joint Venture company manufacturing pipe metal expansion joints.

We would like to employ local talent in Manufacturing, Engineering, QA and we are unable to fiind good staff/Supervisor or Managers.
I have been told in Jakarta most young people prefer to work in an office and young people would like to take up courses in Economics degree or Accounting degree as this would allow them to work in good airconditioned offices. Blue collar workers are picked up mainly from vocational schools based in country towns. We would be very keen to hear from people who knows how to find good talented young men to work for real positions.
I have been told that ATMI produces young graduates but only limited numbers due to their seat limitations and young graduates are picked up by large Japanese companies. Companies like us have very little chance of getting such persons and we have to import expats to work for us in key positions.
