Agus Wardoyo aka Nadia

The tabloid sensation of sex change recipient Agus Wardoyo aka Nadia Ilmira Arkadea.

On 22nd December, Mother's Day, the man born as Agus Wardoyo/Widoyo legally had his sex changed by the state court of Batang, Central Java, to that of a woman, with the new name of Nadia Ilmira Arkadea/Arkadia/Kadea, or just Dea Wardini.

30 year old Agus come Nadia's battle through the courts began about three years ago, after she underwent a sex change operation at the Dr Sutomo hospital in Surabaya, East Java.

Since the decision Nadia has been the talk of infotainment television but much criticism from conservative Islamic circles has arisen.

A lecturer of Syariah and Law at UIN Jakarta, Asrorun Niam Soleh, thundered:

The judge who made this decision has to be held responsible, the Judicial Commission has to investigate him.

Sex changes were haram in Islam, said Niam, who is also the deputy chairman of the Fatwa Commission of the Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI).

The doctors who performed the sex change operation also needed reminding that [1]

Doctor's ethics must be in accordance with religious values.

Kiai Shomad In the city where the operation was performed three years ago the chairman of the East Java Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), Abdusshomad Buchori, said also that sex change operations were forbidden by the Quran and hadiths.

People who change their sex are in opposition to nature, and therefore in opposition to God.

Men like Agus/Nadia who thought they were women had to be encouraged to behave in a normal, male, way. If this encouragement failed to produce results and feminine behaviour persisted it was because: [2]

Meanwhile television personality Dorce Gamalama, who was born Dedi Yuliardi Ashadi and herself had sex change surgery in 1985, had little sympathy for Nadia, considering that she was [3]

Not according to the Iranian Ayatollahs, they’re not…
In fact, Iran is said to be one of the leading inovators in sex change surgery. If you want to have one – in either direction – you have to get a fatwah from some bearded blokes, who sit around fingering their beads and deliberating, and who then give permission and off you go. All fine in Iran…

And the way that tranvestite dorce — oprah wannabe — acts and talks on TV, far from graceful, doesn’t help heris (her+his) fellow tranvestites (in terms of improving their image somehow). In my view dorce is just an ugly, rude, naco (kampungan) pimp.
