To the editor: that quote from Ine Cinthya doesn’t translate well, giving somewhat false impression of her character.

As for Inul, I suppose she’s only performing in the grand tradition of the belly dancers — that fine art commonly practiced by Jews and Western infidels. Kudos to Mataram. Bwahahaha.

And maybe if we go to SenggigI beach in Lombok now we have to wear long sleeves and trousers to be religious?

I dont like the way she sings or dance, but I dont understand how she became so famous but suddenly being so unwelcomed by the local government and even being persecuted by some organizations? Is she really that sinfull or are they being hypocrite? Inul is going to have a hard time making money nowadays, thanks to the regional regulation/autonomy! Indonesia brace yourself, we are going back real fast to the 6th century!

Oops… pardon me. I meant belly dancing is commonly practiced by natives of the North Pole, Mars, or anywhere but that holy region which is so pure and carnal-free it holds the right to correct and penalize other peoples’ culture. Hehehe.

During my last holiday in Indonesia (Aug./Sept. this year) I watched women with jilbab dancing on dangdut music on a TV-Programme, surely not identical with Inul’s motions (I once watched it during my former holiday some years ago in Indonesia too). But it was also filled of dangdut typical “erotic” movements. Everybody (many women with jilbab, some men with kopiah and Arabic Islamic dress) seemed to enjoy the event.

Is there also RUU anti Dangdut?

I don’ ever understand the trouble. Dangdut exists since more than 30 years (or more?). In the past nobody took umbrage against it, why now?

By the way: belly dance (raqs sharqi) has nowadays still a high positive importance in Egypt and Arabic society. Nobody there, who respects the tradition, would assume belly dance was pornography.

here belly dancer can erect our president, so, he forbid belly dance or the dancers from performing art or what so ever they call it.

    So: quo vadis?
No Inul (no Dangdut), no belly dance, no Kylie Minoque, no Beyonce Knowledge, no javanese Kemben (some one still know this?), no Balinese dress (in the past topless), no koteka, no this, no those.
Hello Mis Indo 07, nice to meet you again. I think we should read the ironic note from his first statement (August 28th). But it is not ok to attack any religion (or do you really mean region, Mad Muha?). Not athe religion penalize or does something else, but some people. Do you know the proverb: a knife is just as dangerous as the holder?
To Hassan: Menepuk air di dulang akan membasahi muka sendiri?
