“As a country with the world’s largest Muslim population it is appropriate for us to play an active role in creating world peace, as Muhammad did.”

Yes, Muhammad created world peace, but are you sure those Indonesians who go there to join the “SO CALLED peacekeepers soldiers” whatsoever, has the same intention with Muhammad?
Do they seriously want to create world peace? or just want to make everything worse?
I think if the UN allow them to go, sorry to say, then I think the UN is just as stupid as Indo government.

As long as one believes in a kind of essential irreductibility between so-called opposites, there will be neither reason nor peace on this bloody earth. Is a Muslim a man before he’s a Muslim or a Muslim before he’s a man ? The same question for the Jews.

“Wirajuda also said that the government feared the reaction of militant Islamic groups if it took part in disarming Hezbollah.”

At least he is being honest who is really beginning to call the shots in this country..

Miss Indo, after having the misfortune to work along side the un for a number of years they are increbiblt stupid expect nothing else.

    Fang… huh?

I am afraid the Indonesia government will send jihadis instead of TNI.

it looks there is more to the story than meets the eye! Iran seems to have a different agenda with these Muslim contingents.

Those troops have a lot of advantages for us to modernize Indonesia rather than being sent to Lebanon for a peacekeeping action. There are still lots of houses and roads abandoned half done since the Tsunami struck in Indonesia.

Riccardo, I don’t believe your fairytale. you got your sources siding with and using Israel and mossad’s point of view. the view of the side that had killed 1.000 plus lebanese civilians and had always lied throughout history, from the time of moses till modern days. did you know how many UN resolution that Israel had ignored?

Hassan, why does that not surprise me that you would not believe (or want to believe) such a thing?? hmmmm.
my source is an Indonesian Muslim who hates Israel, and works in a key Indonesian ministry (departmen).

And just for your continuing educational upliftment and the ever-running battle against propaganda-inspired ignorance, the Lebanese civlians that died were forced to be human shields for the Hezbollah monsters. That is a REAL war crime, spelled out clearly in the Geneva Convention.

ahh, another Jew version of the story.. do you think those lebanese people are all idiots or something? no one wants to be a human shield! instead of being used as a human shield, those people can evacuate, can’t they? are they just like sheep, being shepherded to the slaughterhouse by hizbullah?? your story is bullsh*t with a capital b.

Riccardo@ are you really serious about this ? I am not sure whether this information is genuine…not reported by media.

    Hassan,
Do you think Sukarno is an idiot or something? Why would our first president sign the Supersemar? ANSWER: BECAUSE HE HAD MACHINE GUNS POINTED AT HIS FRIGGIN’ HEAD. So did those Lebanese WANT to be human shields? ANSWER: Of course not, but they hadHezbollah guns pointed at their friggin’ heads.

Brad, does the logical part of your mind tell you that it is very likely true? Don’t ask me, ask yourself.

Riccardo: then why did those Israeli bombs only killed the ‘human shield’ civilians. did the hezbollah hostagers who pointed those guns at the civilians all of them somehow miracolously escaped death? the fact is civilian casualties numbered in 1300 people. the official hezbollah body count is about 50. could those hostagers be invisible??
