Well I get confused because it is now deemed offensive to call coloured guys “coloured guys” and there was me thinking it was polite. Apparently I have to say “black”, though how that can be backed up with fact I don’t know. On the Berger whiteness scale there aren’t many who are actually black.

Re “the full story” well here isn’t the place for it, but I’ll dole it up a bit and post it somewhere with no names or drill and you can work it our for yourself – to be honest there were bits of it that were quite funny at the time.

Yes, I do find it ridiculous that a police officer made the suggestions that he did, but in the next breath I also believe he has the right to say it.

Just as well we don’t start a debate on the caste system in India.

    AssmadsAngryBitch..

What was your job before you become an English teacher in Indonesia? A shelf-stacker?

I’m glad to report I’m still holding down both jobs.

    @ Bodoh Perkoso..

Definitely British, what what flavour? Scottish perhaps?

    Wrong!

Since the subject has been raised, my money is on British, I already know what line of work so that wouldn’t be fair.

You’ve lost your money Simple Simon, and made yourself look stupid again.

    @ Perkoso the Bodoh..

We know Schmerly spends a couple of weeks every third year here with his wife – he is nearly a permanent resident

Do you just dream this sort of crap up? or are you just stupid, and spouting off anything that comes into your head?

Your dumb link means nothing its just numbers, and as we all know in Indonesia money covers everything.

And a Indonesian child exploitation link for you to follow.

And there was me thinking how much you love to try and impress others with your self opinionated rants, “I already know what line of work so that wouldn’t be fair” do you?? I wonder, another assumption ? or do you believe everything you read you sad pathetic halfwit, LoL!!

This is a reply to a deleted post.
I honestly caught off-guard by your remarks, Tn. Schmerly. I was in my Stratrek Vulcan Costume on that pic (i think). LOL. I guess i have to change my avatar then…

    *shakes head.

…errr, no i didnt mean to criticize your avatar. I was just joining the guessing contest.

    @ Oigal

But for the average Javanese to lecture me or anyone else on aspects of Balinese culture and mores (or vise versa) for instance give me a break. The average tourist would have better grasp on his first day tour. …

Oink oink .. Look’s who is talking here. Bules know everything. Ask the average Oz kids where milk and eggs come from? carton and bottle?

I think we need a special symbol for ‘genuine’ Indonesians, something next to their name…I think AAB would be included in that group though…

You know that guy you often see at the Hotel Indonesia roundabout, unkempt hair, wild eyed, completely naked and muttering to himself?

    Well that’s me.

    Is this you BK?

(In case anyone gets sensitive about this no I’m not making fun of the man, he was quite pleasant..)

    Polygamy in the police force
    More sweeping in hotels
    KUHP is replaced by syariah
    Detachment 88 is disbanded

    …..you named it

No, that is generally limited to seedy, creepy little men from Jl Jaksa.

Well Schmerely, I can only say that if you feel that way, you don’t have anything to do with the place – you sound JUST like and old sad expat who posts the same rubbish – it was all jolly good fun while he had his oats and drank his voddy but now the attraction is wearing off. I hope he will be happy when he goes home, wherever that will be, but I feel he won’t as there is a snake in the grass everywhere he goes.

Koh Patung, I think it is a good idea, however I would suggest one minor changes – special symbol for authentic Javanese. This is because not all ‘genuine’ Indonesians, Mr TTT for example, are great debaters. As a token for keeping your blog free of arrogant Chinese hokkiens, diehard Jihadis and perverted bules, we deserve special memberships. Below are few senior member to start with:

Sheikh Cuk – a Javanese moslem like myself but more religious, although his avatar tells otherwise. A great scholar.
Dr. Ahmad Sudarsono – a white Javanese. Honest and always telling the truth.
Captain Purba Negoro – He deserves to be Javanese. Loyal and no-hold bar.
Dumadi Satrio – Apprentice white Javanese. Probably need some guidance, but at least he is catching up.
Bu Full Moon Flower – Wonder where she is. Her ‘bule moslem = traitor’ line is a classic. She is needed to demoralize bule moslems.
Pak Mantri – didn’t follow his postings much but am pretty sure he is authentic from his boso jowo. As long as he is Javanese moslem, he ain’t too heavy.
Professor Lareidon – had come Javanese connection. Need him to keep away anglo pests and religious thugs.
    and of course myself,
Sir Aluang Anak Bayang. I forgot to inform you that I was knighted by the Queen earlier this year.

    @Patung

Ay, caray! How did you figure out I’m a balinese?

I, actually, almost believed that I’m a chinese (thanks to dragie who kept telling us every single indon has a splinter of chinese gen in his/her DNA).

    Tn. Aluang.

Im a bit hesitant to comment you back, but here it is.

This is because not all ‘genuine’ Indonesians, Mr TTT for example, are great debaters.

Thank you, for that insightful observation. You are correct. I, indeed, am not a great debater. I simply …to quote somebody, “tell it like it is”.

You, on the other hand, are a master-debater and a cunning-linguist. This is the highest praise i can give to you.

    Salute.

Oink oink .. Look’s who is talking here

    AAB..

Pig Insults now, wow slashed by your rapier wit..

Now Ssshh.. Adults are talking, if we need your opinion we will squeeze a grub.

But for the adults, the point is Indonesia is way too comlex for any average person “Indonesian or Orang Asing” to make the claim they understand the complexity of the culture. It is as an absurb and arrogant statement as saying there is an Indonesian culture there isn’t there are hundreds and within those regional influences that further complicate the matter.

Therefore for any piece of talking planton to insist only he/he she has the right to comment on a culture because only he/she understands the culture is amusing but fatally flawed logic unless we are talking about the very small sub-group to which they belong.

Of course, it could be said then none of us have the right to comment on any culture but that would leave just the name calling and that standard has dropped of late

I noticed three of the names on the list are already Numpty Club members, and therefore already marked i.e. Cukie, AAB and who’s that other weirdo? Oh! yes AS, just put (NCM) next to the name, and that will differentiate this subspecies from normal humans, easy really.

    @AAB…

I cannot remember if it was this thread or another that I posted a comment about your contributions to Australia. If you reread them, the comments that is, you will see that they are actually more complimentary of you than anything else. TO construe them as otherwise would be misplaced, but to each their own.

The Murray carp comment is a nice touch. I am guessing this is/has something to do with being an introduced species that then becomes a pest? Once again, your problem with me is that I am white and Australian, and this is why you seek to write off all of my comments as a know it all. However, if you took the time to read my comments you would see that I am hardly a know it all when it comes to all things Indonesian, but I do try and learn.

    @All…

The name calling and the like of late highlights a complete lack of arguments across the board. As to Diego’s comment about how long does a thread last on topic before the trolling starts would be interesting and ultimately irrelevant because it is unlikely to change anything in this part of the world…

I am always fascinated by the idea that only those of the culture can comment on that culture. It has never stopped the likes of AAB from posting about the deficiencies in Australian culture. Should he be prevented from voicing his observations, hell no!

If people have a problem with AAB, then go after the substance of his comments not the man. If this IM thing was sport then there would have been plenty of red cards already because people prefer to play the man (or woman) rather than the game (substance).

    Enjoy your weekend.

Mmmm.. Is that like a test or something? Wouldn’t you need one of those particle smash together thingies to discover if the sustance exists. For what I have heard, people are worried that doing such a thing could destroy the planet..hardly seems worth the risk..
