Well, I never thought I would take side with the religious’ flock. This is not the kind you can defend in the name of ‘art’.

    It’s just plainly tasteless.

She’s too skinny for that kind of show. That’s my objective opinion.

Good taste or bad taste, it doesn’t matter. This is the right answer to this ridiculous anti-pornografi law. If dangdut-performers still dare to exhibit shows like this despite the intimidations of the FPI islamonutters then there is still hope for this country.

    Ulama’s, eat your heart out!

The end of dance as we know it perhaps, but the sky is definitely not going to fall or the world end based on the performance attached here.

Although, I was inspired to check out the rest of you tube for some more dangdut classics, interesting!

This clearly smack the face of islamists who think they can tame us.

Point is, it should not need defending, seems to be all adults there and one assumes its their money they parted with.

Agree. But the organizer should at least provide some regulation. Or at least some ethics. Children can see it too easily. Even in western countries these kind of show were restricted to adults only.

Or maybe I’m asking too much from this law-free zone?

(Suddenly I remember the brouhaha at Jakarta Biennale several years ago, concerning images of nude Adam and Eve. Well, the FPI mob was clearly bigoted, but the organizer should took some blame too. On every other country’s biennale, triennale, or every art event, there were always regulations and restrictions over some sensitive-themed artworks)

    We’re all born nude Adrian.

On the Ed Sullivan Show in 1956, Elvis Presley was only filmed from the waist up, lest his hip gyrations caused the downfall of Western Civilisation. We managed to survive.

There’s nothing in that dangdut performance that you wouldn’t see in any number of Christina Aguilera videos. Musical taste aside – are Elvis, this or MTV really anything to get too worked up about?

That is…hilarious! LIke in an “Aliens vs. Predator” way. Not exactly subtle, is she…

…but hey! I’m all in favor of artistic license.
