Mr Quinn is indeed a fortunate man.

On the subject of skin tones, an interesting comparison.

Just to clarify, in case anyone thinks I’m some sort of stalker, the above photos are from Mrs Quinn’s own public Facebook page.

That’s the spirit, girl. But one word of advice, if you’re fishing in international waters be prepared to encounter a shark. Or some jellyfish.

Yes ET, you and I, perhaps true to the stereotype bule men, much prefer the darker skinned lass whilst most Indonesian ladies would kill for the complexions of the other two hantu.

  10. avatar ET says:
    January 11th, 2012 at 6:37 pm

Yes BB, many words have already been written here about this obsession of Indo women with white skin. Maybe it can be classified under the same denominator as breast size corrections, designer vaginas and other so-called physical enhancement procedures, all tailored to a woman’s desire to conform to the stereotypes imposed by the media as being the norm of sexual attractiveness, even to the extent of pure grotesqueness and health damage. A beautiful and natural looking skin comes from careful adaptation to the local environment and doesn’t come packed in expensive tubes and flasks that make you look like an alien.

I will post here on the old Buff as everyone seems to be riding it these days (Timdog oh Timdog).

Saw something really curious today, three of the local police pulled up a young couple who ran a red light on the cycle. Within minutes a crowd gathered and started harassing the cops and some cheeky bugger threw a thong (sandal for you yanks). The cops looked..well scared and nicked off..

I dunno if this was a fluke or are we really losing control here..Ominous really, as invariably the wrong people pay the price

Oigal, I’m very happy to be bonding with my brothers BB and ET over the topic of Farah Quinn, so I currently have no regrets about rousing the beast. I am perhaps a mite concerned that we should have been more sensitive to some of the more anguished recent posters, but I’m sure they’ll survive.

I am, however, now massively regretting not speaking to the lovely chef. I mean, I was standing right next to her, and I bet she would have been stoked to get a bit of thoroughly ndeso East Java-style fan worship from a hulking 6ft bule. I would have complimented her cook-to-cook on her kitchen skills, and imagine being able to report back to you lot that she actually spoke to me! I’ll regret it for the rest of my days, and all I have is a fading memory of a stoned Steven Coconut Tree asking me if I liked reggae in a bad nightclub. That and the Ariel Peterpan girl…

But on the thing you saw on the street, there definitely seems to be something going on, and the sandal thing is pretty cool. Did you notice there was another reaction to a 14-year-old who they put on trial in Bali for trying to steal Rp1000 and then getting beaten up by a mob of “concerned local citizens”? The judge let him off, but he was locked in Kerobokan with the likes of Schapelle Corby (now there’s a fine example of bulwom!) for a couple of months while awaiting trial.
Coming so soon after the Palu sandal thief case it got a similar public reaction, and there was a similar movement to leave Rp1000 notes at police posts as a form of protest. But the sandals thing is way cooler….

Ah yes TD. I must confess the one thing I do enjoy about getting older…oops experienced, is the fact I have lost all sense of social inhibition. Not only should you have introduced yourself but offered to cook breakfast :-) . I have found the best line in ugly Bahasa Bule is.

Gelap Banget tadi malam..mau tau kenapa?

Karena semua bintang udah masuk mata kamu..

Its important to cock up the grammar or you come across as a sleaze rather than a helpless bule who needs mothering :-)

I do so love the Peterpan stories and there are so many of them :-) , still trying find out exactly whose trophy wife he was horizontal dancing with tho.

As for ET and BB we often tussle in your absence however they are gracious enough acknowledge sometimes we even agree on things. Although I suspect its along the rationale that even a clock that doesn’t work is right twice a day…

    Good afternoon everyone :)

I can’t believe this comment page goes like.. 148??!!

First i thought you all missing me *so sweeeettt* but then after reading it all over again you’re talking about Farah Quinn *duh*

Fyi, younger Farah Quinn had yellowish light skin toned (kuning langsat) as shes from Palembang Sumatra :) after studying in USA and after marrying a bule, i think she prefer darker skin tone. Its about preference… when she met Mr Quinn she still had those light yellowish skin.

    Have a great weekend!

    Hey Farah,
Amazing you’re still around. Was looking back some old pages and 135 pages back you also followed this thread. Wowwwwww….

As cooking is one of my hobby’s checked out Farah Quinn and yes, would be nice to prepare nice dish with here…..but that’s just first sight. They say that ‘your real skin will show in kitchen, same as with onion’. So I am curious to cook with Farah, one day maybe……nxt time I am in JKT will look for her program on tv. Good for my Bahassa skills also:)

Actually as we speak I have ‘draadjesvlees’ in oven slow cooking at 80 degrees….old Dutch way of spending Sunday afternoon in grey and cold January Holland. Good excuse if you’re not in the mood to go out….hehhehehe

Or was that Marisa Duma? …so confusing…and now I am falling under the spell on Bonni as well…a bule man doesnt stand a snow-ball’s chance in hell against the most beautiful and alluring females on the planet :(

Orang bule – beware the Pontianak!

  22. avatar ET says:
    January 16th, 2012 at 12:16 pm

    Pontianak

    Origin: Indonesian mythology
Also known as: Kuntilanak, Matianak, or Boentianak, cross-reference: sundal bolong

The Pontianak are the spirits of ladies who died during child-birth, and became undead. Pontianak are said to scare people (mostly men), and then rip out their internal organs for feeding with their claws. In the case of men that the Pontianak knew when they were alive (who abused, or otherwise betrayed them), they are said to remove the man’s genitalia with their bare hands (Ouch!!), then cling to it like a handphone. They are much like vampires; however, they do what they do more out of vengeance, rather then necessity or sustenance. It’s also hard to judge just how far away from you they are; usually, a loud cry means the Pontianak is far away, whereas a soft cry signifies that the Pontianak is nearby. It is also said that a faint floral fragrance is detected upon first seeing it, however, the fragrance changes to something rotten after a short period of time. Pontianak are believed to live in banana trees, a possible phallic-/fertility-reference.

To fend off a pontianak, a nail must be plunged into the hole on the nape of her neck. This is said to make her a beautiful woman and a good wife until the nail is removed. (source Wikipedia)

    re.pontianak

In some parts of Indonesia elaborate hair dresses are created to conceal the nail in the neck of the former pontianak. In most parts however a simple jilbab or hijab will do the trick.

then cling to it like a handphone

Okay ET, you got me :) . Now that leaves us to question whether this pontianak has preference for bule or local, as we know that slim handphone seems to be the trend lately… Unless she prefers tablet PC.

Bule or local, fat or slim, it doesn’t matter as long as it can be dikutak-katik. Pontianaks like that. Touchscreens are particularly in demand because they can also be stroked.

    ET,

As the love birds seem to take a hybernation period from this thread, it’s probably the best time for me to answer your previous question:

To elaborate further on this compelling phenomenon of Indonesian girls and their handphones. Is there a correlation between its brand, color, shape and most importantly its price tag and what some here have called the F*Factor?

I wouldn’t dare to make a guess. But just to give you something to chew on, let’s see the case in e-book readers as an approach to understand this phenomenon of Indonesian girls and their handphones. Amazon has recently released several new types of Kindle. The one that comes with black and white screen and lower price is just called “Kindle”, while the other type that comes with colorful touchscreen and higher price is named “Kindle Fire”. Now if we can see the connection between “price”, “fire”, and FF…
