Vice President Jusuf Kalla says Indonesia has caught more terrorists than anywhere else in the world.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his visiting South African opposite number, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, the moustachioed, diminutive businessman cum politician said:
There’s no other country in the world which has caught more terrorists. Wev’e nabbed 200 in the last two years.
(Tidak ada negara di dunia selain Indonesia yang menangkap lebih banyak teroris. Kita menangkap 200 teroris selama dua tahun terakhir.)
All countries suffered from terrorism he said, and:
The Bali bombings have had a negative impact on our tourist industry and economy.
(Sewaktu terjadi bom di Bali, industri pariwisata kita merosot. Jadi, berdampak pada ekonomi.)
Indonesia is united with other countries in the struggle against the bomb belt strappers-on.
We fight harder against terrorism, the proof is wev’e caught 200 of them in the last two years. They are now locked up and some of them are on death row.
(Kita lebih keras melawan terorisme, terbukti dengan 200 orang teroris yang telah ditangkap dalam dua tahun terakhir. Mereka kini ada yang ditahan dan dihukum mati.)
said Kalla, beating his chest. Two hundred?
