I agree with Andy, Kiwibali & PN

I am just wondering what will happen my love country in the next century when the bill is passed by the Parliament ?
I imagine the people will behave it like a robot????
My point of view, they will not have a freedom to express their own art, particular, in custom, beliefs, and tradition. While, all of these it make me proud in a multicultural nation society. We have a vast archipelago famous for the diversity of its population,
that pluralism had been a fact of life in Indonesia for some time.
Where is a democracy??? in how democracy????? should the personal conduct be regulated by the state?? Should the state involve more deeply to regulate the right of citizen in away freedom of expression???
In this case, I agree that the Constitution 1945 and Pancasila are needed as a significant fundamental to compromise in a multicultural diversity society.

Let’s see, the authority, in Tangerang, applied Sharia Law. When women stand in the street wait public transportation, because she went late from her job. In short, eventually the authorities put her in jail four days.????????????

My view, the government more focus to deal how to encourage in education, economy stabilization, poverty, particular, in corruption, rather than concern in citizens personal conduct rights, it is wasting time and state budget. The education is very important to improve how the citizen would be able to balance in the flow of transformation and information. It is our nation investment for long term.

    Please optimal in areas :
    a. KUHP
    b. UU Pokok Pers
    c. UU Perfilman Nasional
    d. UU Penyiaran
    e. UU Kekerasan dalam Rumah Tangga
    f. UU Perlindungan Anak

Should we adopt the peerless wisdom of Nasution’s Dwifungsi parliamentary military bloc ‘anymore’ ??????

I think there are 2 possibilities:

    1. this bill is once again “revived” to veil Indonesia’s poor condition - just like Enigmatic said before

    2. this ridiculous bill is designed and rolled by Islamic puritans to get a significant feedback - whether they could get the public on their side or not … consider it as another way to disguise and inject the sharia system to Indonesian law. I think we’ve got to give them a “clear” feedback and send them back - well, at least to their desks once again …

Since the independence day, 17 August, 1945, we have a fundemental principle, Pancasila and Bhineka Tunggal Ika (unity in diversity).

So, Mukadimah and Piagam Jakarta are not our fundamental principle in Indonesia.

Do not change our principle as a guide in multicultural society to the others principles.

I guess, it will be a better law, if it only focus on preventing children from being ‘exploited’ for sexual means. I think this law is slightly better than the first draft, because it is more specific in a sense. It is more directed to protecting people from pornography than preventing people from doing porno-aksi. However, some part of the UU do need some subjective interpretations(which is bad), like what’s the guidelines of deciding that some art activity is directed for cultural means. Power might play a role in here, that is an artist or organization can bribe police, so their arts can be consider as part of the culture.
Beside, will censoring itself be that easy? Schools and other educational facilities might able to censor their computers, so children could not access porn materials. But how about at home? Will it be censored as well? I know that some adolescents are very sophisticated with technology (more than their parents), so they might able to find a way to ‘crack’ the censor.
