Isn’t that how the world works? The majority (most of the time) wins. Heck, even a moronic president from a country that acts like world police get voted from so much moronic people. Majority rocks!
Hello Oskar,
yessss: I think it is the way, how the world works.
What about this: Democracy is a dictatorship of the majority.
Or this: The strongest will rule.
Or this, majority has no power at all. The majority is the unluckiest group of all. ha…ha…ha…ha…ha… that majority people there are the most narrow-minded and the most unfortunate people.
It’s impossible that the parliament would be so disregarding of the majority opinion just because there is some opposition. (Karena itu, DPR RI tak mungkin mengabaikan kelompok mayoritas hanya karena ada penolakan.)
There will always be opposition party. High-stake decisions are not so easy to make because there are a lot of trade-offs to make. We will gain some benefits, but sacrifice some others. It happens most of the time. Only a handful of decisions is so easy to make because there are zero negative points, the rest is a tough call, and that is exactly why Indonesia need smart, objective, and dedicated guys to be on the top. This Balkan is the exact opposite.
There are times when the opposition are just “be there for the sake of being an opponent” with no valid standing ground. But there are times too when opposition give a solid reason why they oppose an idea / suggestion, and may even come up with better one(s). A good leader know how to differentiate the two. Mr Balkan don’t. He just steam-roll the opposition with hukum rimba. Law of the jungle states that the strongest rule. He practises that. But are we bunch of tarzans? no.
Using majority as a reason is plainly silly, and will become laughingstock for the rest of the century. A good decision is based on good justification, good vision, and good overview of the positive vs negative points. If based on majority, it is surely be one of the worst decision, because most of them are, with all due respect, stupid.
If more people like this are leading up there, we are in grave danger.
