    Banten eh? West Java again.

Anyone have any idea who’s behind the huge mosque currently under construction on Gatot Subroto road? That thing is going to be the Wal Mart of mosques, all the little mom n’ pop operations for miles around will be going out of business.

No wonder these children lose interest in Islam as represented on TV. All they see are screaming and rioting fronts and laskars.

I advise these children to keep on watching TV and not to listen to this minister.

    Friend,

I recommend playing the ukuele in the background to help the kiddies concentrate. Nice plunky little tunes like “Burung Kakaktua,” or “Show no mercy,” by Slayer.

When he asked his grandchildren to read from the Quran, in his own home, he said they couldn’t sit still for long enough and asked to be excused to go to the toilet.

whats the point of reading something the reader cannot understand?
The koran warns its readers of idol worshipping. But today’s muslim ignore the messages and inulge in pagan worship in mecca

    @ sputjam,

Just wondering, why such hostility to idol worshipping? It was the preferred mode of worship of cavemen and of the Copper Bronze Age , its been the mode of worship for millennia. If idol worship is indeed wrong, isn’t worshipping a non existent God like adultery with a non existent partner? Is God some kind of neurotic psychopath that He\She won’t forgive humans worshipping idols, or should He\She be kind enough to overlook it, and try to answer humans trying to communicate with Him\Her in whatever way?

These days however, not just in big cities but also in the villages, children no longer did this, but instead were too much interested in watching television.

When he asked his grandchildren to read from the Quran, in his own home, he said they couldn’t sit still for long enough and asked to be excused to go to the toilet.

Alhamdulillah, there is still hope for Indonesia. China and India, watch out! Competition is on the way.

Reading the Quran is just a big waste of time. Just like watching Indonesia’s TV channels.

“When he asked his grandchildren to read from the Quran, in his own home, he said they couldn’t sit still for long enough and asked to be excused to go to the toilet.”

Did he take the book with him? You know.. for the paper…

My Indonesian dad has pressed me to read the Qur’an since I was six. He forces me to attend Friday prayers.
He also drinks beer in private and possesses a second wife without the first’s permission.

Maybe Basyuni needs to sort out the hypocrisy in Indonesian society before attacking the “irreligious” youths. :S
