The Syrian-American woman Dr. Wafa Sultan.

An article at the NY Times, of all places, about the Syrian-American woman Dr. Wafa Sultan whose interview on Al Jazeera television on Feb. 21, in which she compared Muslims to Jews very unfavourably, sparked a storm across the Middle East.

Some of the more memorable quotes from the article:

Only the Muslims defend their beliefs by burning down churches, killing people and destroying embassies. This path will not yield any results. The Muslims must ask themselves what they can do for humankind, before they demand that humankind respect them.

She is planning to release a book entitled: “The Escaped Prisoner: When God Is a Monster”.

I have had the experience of living among Christians who use their “God” as a monster to control others, so I definitely can understand and apprreciate what Dr. Sultan is trying to share with us.
