   I am a bule who lived in Jakarta from 1986 until 1996. My (also bule) friend and I frequented bars in the top int’l Jl Thamrin etc hotels where we encountered many Indonesian women, both hookers and single educated office workers. He successfully hooked up with a large number of the latter type. They were interested in meeting bules because bules treated them with much more respect and politeness than did Asian men. Now you may debate whether meeting women when he had no intention of a long term relationship with them was respectful, but he was always honest with them in that regard. He never led them to believe there was a chance of marriage or even a long-term relationship. The women seemed to enjoy his company as much as he enjoyed theirs.

   I only have one thing to ask. Why does anyone bother responding to Aluang Anak Bayang? If he thinks its polite for an adult to teach a child that another human is monkey I cannot think of anything valuable this person would have to contribute. So to everyone except Aluang spend your time on something / anything more worthwhile.

   Dear scott, you got info why australian/american came to indonesia in 80, I would like to add american came to indonesia in 90 also for join venture. Why 15yrs indonesian girl end up as your story? It because: she was rape or she slept with her boy friend which leave her or she was push to marry somebody she don’t even want to see. In that circumstances she have a friend or friend have a friend whom will “help” her out, than she end up in a big city like jakarta and work as a hostess in exclusive night club with fake id (cheat on date of birth) to get in, of course with nice dress and thick make up which borrow all from friend as a starter. She will never she age as a matter because we never learn if she have to marry guy which 2yrs older or 20yrs older than her own age, so love and feel safe that’s all count. From older guy love come not only as a lover but also as a father and as a friend. Foreigner (bule) will never see a woman base on virginity, he will respect her as she is regardless she’s virgin or not and that big relieve for her. Dear scott, make your story with happy end please as her life already full with torture.
