An idea, mothers take your girls out of the school, move to Bandung before they start there too. Home schooling, start a girl school, yes there is one school for girls, the students are loved, very well treated and they get etiquette, moral education as well as religious instruction. I know because, I was there. Women don’t let them treat you or your girls that way. How about if one girl (could be not her mistake got into it) how would she feels. Don’t let men do as they wish, basta!

Maybe there is a clause in Qur’an being interpreted as a permission for men to rape (women or men, innocent or not). So the men have sex outside of marriage and men who have raped usually don’t get any punishment (many examples of these!).

Yes Pena Budaya, this type of story would be ideal for a sensationalist media report about the backwardness of Indonesia. Especially because it has to do with the mistreatment of women, which is a particularly touchy subject with us Westerners.
I think that the West is a great example for the world as far as women’s legal rights are concerned. Our problem is that many people in our society have become very cynical and materialistic, to the point that many people’s sense of morality has been curbed. But the problem is not caused by “too many” women’s rights. The problem is that morality is not emphasized at all in our schooling system. And I said morality, not religion. I was lucky to have grown up in a family where morality (and spirituality) was very strongly emphasized. Many kids don’t grow up in an environment like that, so they and up becoming selfish, narcissistic (sp?), and generally nasty individuals.
But again, legislating something as contentious as religion will never work. Once we begin to legislate subjective things such as taste and morality, the loudest and angriest voices will always have their way. Case and point: Indonesia.

From medical point of view, some women may break hymen because of certain activities or accidents. What if the women were molested when they were still kids? Women and men are not virgin if they have done sex and THIS CAN NOT BE CONFIRMED 100% BY ANY MEDICAL CHECK.
