US Interference in Poso

Jan 15th, 2007, in News, by

The recent violence in Poso is caused by America, says Abu Bakar Ba'asyir.

The head of the Majelis Mujahidin Indonesia (MMI) said at the Darussalam mosque in Lamong, Pare, Kediri, East Java, on the 14th that as long as America continued to pursue its nefarious agenda of creating sectarian strife in Central Sulawesi there would not be peace.

He said that the troubles in Poso between Christians and Muslims were provoked by America in order to ensure that Indonesia remained weak and divided and hence reliant on America. While he supported government efforts to end the fighting and bring to justice the main troublemakers he said it was difficult for the Indonesian government to be able to do so effectively, because of the US interference. Efforts to end the conflict should be done in a non-biased way and not cause the interests of America to gain the upper hand. antara

What I find worrying that the Indoensian mainstream media is giving him a platform to spread his confused and twisted views. Baasyir, you son of ugly camel. I think you lie too much, and finally you forget which one wrong from the right. Yes, you can see jihadists are made in USA, they trained in Washington, oops wrong again, they came from your pesantren.

    ——————————–

I don’t understand! Where do you get your facts?
I wonder how a person think to have the conclusion that America has anything to do with ABB getting arrested and basically for anything that went wrong in Indo?

What is the cause of the violence in Poso? Why ABB said it was America that provoked it? Is it true (according to ABB) that the Indonesian gov can not bring peace to the area because of US interference? Can the government end the conflict in a non-biased way (between Muslim and Christian)?

  14. avatar Dimp says:

Again, this is the case that “it is never my fault”, it is easy to blame others, but it takes a great man to accept responsibility and act accordingly.

  16. avatar Peter says:

The last thing that America wants is for the largest Muslim country in the world to destabilize. Obviously.

  17. avatar Cukurungan says:

Q: What is the cause of the violence in Poso?

A: Caused by implementation of twisted Jesus teaching

Q: Why ABB said it was America that provoked it?

A: America always provokes, de-stabilize and seek regime change other country that against “New Word Order” promoted by them.

Q: Is it true (according to ABB) that the Indonesian gov can not bring peace to the area because of US interference?

A: Of course, instead of handling the Poso conflict in the proper and justice manner, Indonesia police was busy for responding America request to silicen Him

Q: Can the government end the conflict in a non-biased way (between Muslim and Christian)?

A: Is there any example in this real word a non-biased conflict solution. I do not think so because biased and no-biased is mainly depend on which a view angle you are standing.

In facts, the police anti terror brigade whom currently working in Poso were fully financed by US and Aust gov., is it wrong if a dog obey to an order of the some one who feeding on them?

  18. avatar Andrew says:

Some people keep blaming others for Indonesia’s misfortune. This is partly why we aren’t getting better — instead of looking in the mirror to find out what’s wrong with themselves, they look out and curse on others.

“Buruk muka cermin dibelah” is exactly what it is.

  19. avatar Rockstar says:

    Cukurungan:

It’s not as easy as saying it was all started by the Christians. You have no solid prove or whatsoever. It’s like ‘the chicken and the egg’ paradigm. What was first. It’s difficult to say, but one thing for sure some of them are surely twisted.

Q: Why ABB said it was America that provoked it?
A: ABB was high when he said that. No, seriously, why would the US provoke us? As far as I know this whole bloodshed started after Osama visited Ambon a few years ago.

But yeah, even if what Cukurung and ABB said were true, Indonesia has only themselves to blame. Look at how easy we are to be provoked. Ahmadinejad came, people worshipped him like Elvis. Wait I take it back, Ahmadinejad is not even in the same level as Elvis. He’s far way below that. Look at how easy our people to be provoked by Prabowo. Stop blaming America for our stupidity.

Of course, instead of handling the Poso conflict in the proper and justice manner, Indonesia police was busy for responding America request to silicen Him

C’mon man, you’re just making this up. A very weak argument I’d say. The answer is so simple, our goverment just don’t have enough power and will to stop the conflict. That’s pretty much it. You need prove? How on earth our gov would solve the Poso conflict IF they couldn’t handle a wayyyy smaller group and issue like FPI? Those group of clowns keep destroying and ruining our economy and stability. Our gov does nothing about them. Now you’re blaming the US for this? That’s ridiculous. Don’t tell me you’re saying that the US is behind the FPI!

Is there any example in this real word a non-biased conflict solution. I do not think so because biased and no-biased is mainly depend on which a view angle you are standing.

Let’s put the bias and non-bias issues aside for now. Like an old saying: if there is a will, there is a way. Unfortunately our gov doesn’t has that urging need to solve the conflict.

In facts, the police anti terror brigade whom currently working in Poso were fully financed by US and Aust gov., is it wrong if a dog obey to an order of the some one who feeding on them?

Another weak statement. I don’t like to argue, but it seems that you hate the US so bad that you can’t think rationally anymore and keep throwing weak arguments like this.
But that’s okay, at least it did make me laugh for a bit.

Cmon, what better from a lady dancing man who flirting to ladies and sex them (I read even he had sex with his mother too) than a leader from a country who have a strong willpower and independence that are not just a chicken dance.
Take a look at Ahmadinejad biograph, and you’ll see that Elvis is a piece of junk.

Oh wait, my mistake, I see, you mean Ahmadinejad is far below Elvis in flirting and… πŸ˜€

  22. avatar Dimp says:

    Hi Indra,

It is easy to say bad things about people who are no longer with us, he/she obviously cannot defend him/herself here.

I thought Islam is the religion of peace, and yet you are showing so much hatred against Elvis.

Indra, are you serious? Or just on drugs?

There is no comparison between the two.

  24. avatar Ihaknt says:

So what if Elvis did bed many women? are you just jealous? And why was he an A-hole? what proof do you have for that? The poligamous husbands are probably no better than him anyway!

Take a look at Ahmadinejad biograph, and you’ll see that Elvis is a piece of junk.

why the f*** would we wanna read a stupid book to find out about Elvis anyway??? At least Elvis entertained people and still does until now. To many his songs are the soundtrack of their lives. America’s fault of not, Elvis will live way longer through generations than this Ahmad-whatever dude.

What are you laughing? Of course in the rockstar view Elvis is much better than ahmadinejad. When elvis sang song everyone would be dancing while when Ahmadinejad sang songs the oil price was jumping.

  30. avatar Hassan says:

About the US, for me they are not the cause of all of Indonesia’s problems, some of them are our own faults and we should strive the best as we can to tackle those matters. But the US is not completely innocent, obviously. Their hands aren’t completely clean.

    Naga:

So long as paranoia, superstition and general ignorance overwhelms belief in science, evidence and common sense, there will never be an end to Indonesia’s problems”Β¦the country is simply doomed.

It’s easy to state the obvious, but what’s the solutions to the problem? One thing for sure it’s going to be difficult to change the situation, when our TV stations kept feeding Indonesians with ‘sinetron mistik’ and ‘infotainments’ which practically ‘taught’ them superstition and ignorance. That’s what our citizens been fed with day in and day out. The saying goes “Garbage in, garbage out”!

    bin camel:

Yes, you can see jihadists are made in USA, they trained in Washington.

Almost right. Actually a certain group of jihadists named Al Qaeda (which was a part of the old mujahiddin in Afghanistan) was ‘made’ by the USA. The US financed and armed Al Qaeda in the past. They were trained by Washington. Now, those guys turned against their former masters and became loose cannons. Their actions profited no one in this planet, including the US and Islam.

    rockstar:

“where there is a will, there is a way” unless your hands are tied. πŸ™‚

As for Indonesia, ever heard the term client-state? We are one of US’ many client-states. And in this matter, ‘client’ doesn’t mean ‘customer’.

And yes, it is our fault for allowing ourselves be America’s ‘client’.
